"We did it."
"James, I swear to god."
"Wow."
I mean, he wasn't wrong. We had done it.
"Are you spending the night?"
James turns to me and smiles, "Yup, my mom already knows I'm not going home tonight."
"That sounds so wrong."
"She thinks I'm with Chase, dang woman."
"I'm glad you and Chase are friends," I smile.
"The man is an absolute unit."
I grab James' shirt and pull it on.
"You wanna grab some popcorn? I'll find something to watch."
"Can't you grab it?"
I see the smirk that starts showing on his features. He's trying to make me uncomfortable.
"I will hurt you."
"Ah, but I already have."
"You suck," I laugh.
"Actually, you did."
"James, just go get the popcorn."
"Yes, baby. Of course, baby. Anything for you, baby."
"Insufferable," I mutter as I collapse back into the pillow.
"I heard that," James yells from wherever he is.
After some time of watching tv we must've fallen asleep from exhaustion. At least I did. It'd been an eventful day, that's for sure.
I wake up to the sound of James' voice, "Breakfast is served."
"Breakfast?" I open my groggy eyes.
James sets a tray in the middle of the bed and I sit up a little so I can function a little bit better. I look down to see waffles and an assortment of fruits. Of course, my daily coffee is in a travel mug and James probably has the same in his, being an avid caffeine hoe like me.
I smile and I take the first sip of coffee, "Not mine."
I cough and hand the mug to him.
"Too much sugar."
James laughs and takes the mug from me, hanging me the other one, "You mean one packet of sugar."
"Too much sugar," I repeat in a play angry tone.
Taking a sip of the other mug I smile in content. This is the one. Perfection.
"Did you make waffles?"
"No, I made pancakes."
"This is why I hate you."
James leans in closer, over the tray to my side, "Lies," he whispers and then kisses me softly.
We rearrange ourselves so we're side by side and the food is set on top of us. I turn on the tv and we settle in our cuddle position. James' arm around me and I'm slightly leaning on his chest. We're both eating our waffles in peace.
This is where it's at.

"Stef, you owe me 30 bucks."
"Does everybody bet on us? Is there some secret underground society I don't know about?" I look around at my friends.
No one says anything but Stef who grumbles a few profanities and hands Alex her 30 bucks.
