"What has you smiling?"
"I don't know what you mean."
"Come on you look like you had the best sex of your life."
Edward's nose scrunches, "Sadly, not today."
"So what then," I laugh.
"He held the door open for me and said I smell good."
My eyes widen at his confession, "He?"
Edward stops in his tracks, "She?" His nervous tone makes it sound more like a question than anything convincing.
I stop with him, turning to face his fear stricken face.
"I know already."
His face inches up from staring at the floor below him, "You do?"
"Yes."
"You're not mad?"
"How could I ever be mad?" I grab his shoulders.
"My friends in my old home town were mad."
I pull him closer so I can hug him. He quickly laches on to me, tightening his hold. "Thank you."
"For what?" I ask.
"For being a good friend."
I laugh slightly, "I've always wanted a GBF,"
"Of course you did," Edward laughs with me.
"I'll always support you, till the day you steal my man."
"I would never."
I give him a side eyed glare as we continue walking down the hall to our class.
"Just trust me more," I sigh out before we go our separate ways.
"I do trust you," Edward looks up into me eyes.
"Why didn't you tell me sooner?"
"I was afraid I would lose my friend."
"Never, you're too badass to leave stranded."
He laughs and gives me a side hug, "Whatever."
"How long did you know for?"
"Remember that night we studied at my house?" He nods and I continue, "You told me I wasn't your type. First off, I'm everyone's type. Yet the one that really sent me over the edge," I pause for some suspense, "you butt dialed me and I accidentally heard a conversation with your mom."
Whoops, the cat is out of the bag now.
Edward chuckles lightly, "Everyone's type Miss Single Pringle?"
"Shut up."
"You knew and didn't say anything?"
"I didn't want to force it out of you. Sounds disrespectful. I'm your friend."
"You're right. I'm a wuss for not telling you sooner," I frowns down at the floor.
I grab his shoulder to make him look at me, there's a sort of sadness covering his eyes. Stepping forward I wrap my arms around him, "You told me when you were ready."
He hugs me back, letting his chin rest on my head, "More like when I fucked up at said he."
"That too, but you probably meant to fuck up."
Edward laughs, "It was the easiest way to tell you."
"Edward, you're a godsend," I smile up at him, parting from the hug that had taken place, "Now, am I allowed to meddle and get you a boyfriend?"
"My love life is in your hands."
"Don't say it like that."
"I trust you. It's not like I get any other action anyways," He smiles slightly and starts walking into the school.
I follow shorty after, running a little to catch up to his large strides. He gives me a quick laugh when he sees me struggling and slows down.
"You're so slow," He laughs.
"You're so fast."
A plus comeback.
"Like you would know," Edward winks, turning the corner as he heads to his class.
I keep walking straight, rolling my eyes at his immaturity but then laughing when I realize that I'm just as immature.
History seems to drag, more so than usual. James decided to sit elsewhere, next to his girlfriend whom has suddenly joined our class. The rest of our cult sitting in their respective seats, sending me pitying glares. I just groaned and let my head fall onto the desk letting the sleep I so desperately wanted to take over.
"Lu, wake up!"
"Mom! Leave," I groan out.
"Do I look like your mother?"
I lift my head up to see who has bothered my peaceful sleep. "Sorry Stef," I mumble.
I quickly stand up when I realize class has ended and I need to move one with my life. "Nice little nap you had there," Stef chuckles.
"Fuck you, it was beautiful."
"Yeah, and so was the Great Depression. You are not a pretty sleeper."
"Okay okay, no need to insult me," I roll my eyes at her bluntness.
Some of us have insecurities, thank you very much.
I rush to my next hour and make sure not to fall asleep this time. I use my mother's angry face as motivation to stay awake and pay attention.
"Lucy, mall later? Stef and Zach are joining," Edward asks as he pulls up a chair.
He does that weird sit where you straddle the back of the chair. I silently chuckle and nod. "Fantastic."
"I think you mean fucktastic," I smirk.
Edward just rolls his eyes at me and looks away towards the teacher who has official begun class. He turns his chair around to sit like a normal person, trying to bring as little attention as possible to his actions in the back of the classroom. The loud clang of a shin hitting a chair leg and an even louder "Shit!" resounds. The class turns around and the teacher glares evilly at Edward and I.
Like it's my fault the boy has bad coordination.
I notice a Suspect G, as we decided to call him, stares at Edward durning his dumbass mistake. A cute smile and a glint in his eyes tells me he saw the whole thing unfold.
"You dumb," I whisper to Edward once he's sitting in his chair normally.
"Shut up, that hurt."
"At least he enjoyed the show."
Edward turns his head slightly to me, trying to keep his eyes on the board to pretend he's paying attention. "What?"
"He was looking back here."
"Great, and I just looked like a dumbass."
"That's what I'm saying," I laugh, "But he seemed to like that part."
"The part where I painfully broke my shin," Edward exaggerates.
"Yeah, that part."
