"Lucy, we have to tell them."
"I mean we don't have to."
"Yes we do, silly."
I cross my arms and frown, "I'm scared."
"Aren't we all?"
"Shut up."
James walks over to me and engulfs me in a hug, "We need to tell them, tonight."
"Tomorrow?"
"We're all having dinner tonight," James just had to remind me, "We're doing it tonight."
"It?" I raise my eyebrows suggestively.
The blush that creeps up James' neck is a bright bright red. He's all shy and awkward now. Cute.
I start laughing and hit his arm, "Nah, not till marriage," then I walk away to my class, leaving him hanging.
But actually. Do it?
"Lucy, I've got loads to tell you," Stef excitedly waved me over when she sees me walk in.
I smile and make my way to my seat beside hers, "Spill all the tea."
"So, you know how I'm dating Chase?"
"Yeah," I look at her confused.
We all know she's dating Chase. It's all she ever talks about.
"Well," She ignores my confused glances, "He officially got into college yesterday."
I nod and let her continue, anxious to see where the story was going.
"So, I went over to have a little congratulatory party with his parents. And one thing led to another, and well, I congratulated him in bed too."
"Holy shit."
"He got into Yale."
"Holy shit."
"And I was accepted in UConn, which is an hour away."
"Holy shit."
Stef looks at me concerned, "Are you gonna day something other than holy shit?"
"Holy shit."
"Yeah, I know."
"You congratulated him in bed?"
"Out of everything I said, that's what stuck with you?"
I nod my head and smile at her, waiting for my response. I stare at Stef intently and I can see the blush get more intense by the second. I'm wearing her down. Slowly.
"Yes, we did."
"Stef! Why didn't you call?!"
She blushes and shrugs, "It's more of an in-person type of news."
I roll my eyes and move closer to Stef, "Tell me."
"12 minutes."
"That's 5 minutes past heaven!"
"Felt like it too," Stef looks down and smiles.
I laugh, "Pretty Boy Chase really came in clutch."
My eyes go wide and I grab Stef's arm, "How big?"
"I thought something bad had happened, geez," Stef grabs my wrist so I let go of the death grip I have on her arm.
"Something bad did happen, I forgot to ask the priority question."
"Lucy, you are gross."
I shrug and wait, yet again, for my answer.
