"I should've never fucking listened to you, dude," Harry yells. His busted hands grip the steering wheel in front of him opening fresh wounds.
"What are you talking about, Harry? If you had turned right when I had said to, we wouldn't be in this predicament, now would we?"
"Piss off, Parker. You fucked up my truck."
"No you piss off, Harold." I've never cursed so much in my life.
Stuck in the middle of no where with a flat tire is not how I hoped this day would go. It's been days since we've been outside his flat! I hear Harry's car door slam and his footsteps crunch as he makes his way towards the back of his truck. Hopping out and, once again, hissing from the impact I follow behind to inspect the damage.
"Fuck, man. That bald motherfucker not only fucked my tire, but he damaged the. . ," I hear Harry continue on as the poor guy on the other end only mumbles slurs of agreements with what he's saying.
When Harry is like this he's completely unreasonable and a lot of times it's best to just let him vent.
I should take my own advice.
Exhaling, I pull out my phone and notice that I only have two percent. Why is my phone always dying?
I place my thumb over the home button to awaken it and again to open. I quickly go to my contacts and scroll until I get to the name of Alex's mechanic and click to call.
I miss him.
After a brief explanation and a promise to be here as soon as possible I end the phone call, slipping the phone into my back pocket. I walk back to the passenger seat to see a defeated Harry with his head resting on the top of the wheel.
"Harry?"
No reply. His long hair is shielding his face making it impossible to know what he's thinking. He looks so awkward with his long torso bent over, his back hunched.
"Harry?" I say again, shaking his shoulder a bit. He replies with a light grunt of protest. Rolling my eyes, I catch him up on the mechanic situation.
"What do we do now?" he asks finally looking up at me, eyes quizzical.
"I don't know," I pronounce looking around at the elongated forest covering both sides of the two lane road. My attention draws to a tiny crack in the window of his car that I hadn't noticed before. It's not bad, but it's not pleasant either. I wonder if he's noticed it.
After about a moment of silent staring Harry puts forward a solution.
"How about we go exploring?" he proposes, eyes with glee. Although his lip is still slightly swollen the rest of his face has healed remarkably. It's almost like the fight never happened.
"That actually doesn't sound too bad. I'm down so long as we are here back on time to meet with Jimmy."
"Cool. Let's go," he exclaims already out of the car. The sun is no longer directly above us in the sky. Several small birds and some large ones swoop down to the ground in front of us causing me to jump slightly. I can't deal with bird poo right now.
After about eight minutes of aimlessly walking through the dense forestry I grow bored. The muddy grass sloshes below our feet creating a very disturbing sound in the small forest.
