 Story 1: The King's Rosary

The groan of the motorcycle's engines overwhelmed other sounds as Taurus sped off in the highway with his red Ducati. The world passed by in his peripheral vision as he zoomed in and out of the traffic, all the while cursing himself. The rush of adrenaline in his blood kept him on the edge as his grip tightened on the motorcycle’s handle and he doubled his speed with a fury. He looked over his shoulder and he could see the black sedan speeding in and out of the traffic just a few meters away from him. His speed spiked off to the limit as he veered to the right into an intersection leading outside the city with the vehicle still chasing him and then he cursed repeatedly when bullets started raining at him. He swerved from left to right to avoid them, breaking the speed limit as he raced against death.

Good job, Taurus! So much for being unnoticed...

A burst of speed from his bike and he swung to a curved lane, but he did a double take when a blur of black and blue darted pass him and headed towards the sedan chasing him. He abruptly pulled to a stop at the corner and his eyes widened when he saw the sedan’s five passengers filing out of the car and firing at the person in a blue hoodie and black jeans with two sheathed katanas on her back.

Fearlessly, the hooded person sprinted towards the shooting men flinging three throwing knives in succession. Three of the five men immediately went down as the blades buried deep on their chests, while the other two were shocked and confused at the same time. They fearfully looked at the three who already went down and then to the hooded person who was slowly but firmly drawing out the katanas from their sheaths. They unsteadily pointed their guns at their adversary but before they even knew it, a katana went flying to the one at the left and it went through his left eye, while the other one left was stunned to suddenly come face to face with their predator. He was caught in the depths of a pair of cold, blue orbs before he felt the metal piercing through his stomach and driving upward, slicing his head in two.

The man's chopped body dropped to the ground like a discarded sack of rice and the hooded person just walked casually to where the other katana was still buried in the skull of one of the hired goons. Taurus took off his helmet with a scowl on his face, pulled his own gun from the holster hidden behind his jacket and marched towards the hooded person who was pulling the katana from the dead man's skull.

"What are you doing, slayer?" Taurus snapped as he pointed the gun at the hooded person's head from the back.

The person turned and a pale female face with eyes as blue as the sky and as cold as steel looked back at him from the hood of the blue hoodie. Her face and some strands of her dark hair were splattered with blood and both of her hands were still clutching the blood-dripping katanas as she looked directly into Taurus' gray eyes.

"Keeping you safe."

Annoyance and incredulousness surged within Taurus at the girl's blank face and cold tone. His jaw clenched and his voice sharpened at the ridiculousness that she said.

"Are you trying to be funny? Or do you want me to kill you now?"

This girl was a slayer for the King Clan, the mortal enemy of the Mafia clan that he belongs to, the White Clan. Their clans have been fighting for decades now, and he found it really ridiculous hearing those words from an enemy.
