Devin's PoV -

I sat in a crouching position hiding behind a bookshelf waiting for my boyfriend to walk by, I wanted to jump out and scare him. It felt like forever but a few minutes later Conor finally walked into our room with a yawn. It was late at night and Conor had been at his family's house for hours. I stayed behind so I could visit with my brother but the young Earl went to bed only an hour or two after Conor left, leaving me to myself. I couldn't blame Dawson, he had to get up early every morning and run his city.

Conor walked by the bookshelf without seeing me. I let my prey take one more step before I silently sprang out at him. Conor let out a terrified scream till we both landed on the floor and he seen it was only me. "Devin, I told you not to scare me like that anymore!" Conor pouted a little, he was right, I did scare him a lot but he was just so fun to scare.

I quickly took off my mask and kissed him successfully stoping his pouting. He kissed back and I could feel him smiling into our kiss. I wrapped my arms around him and he did the same with me. Finally, we both pulled away. "I'm sorry, Conor, you're just so fun to scare," I replied.

"Ug, I can't stay mad at you," Conor smiled as he ran his fingers through my hair, earning a purr from me.

"Conor, we should go look at the stars, they're so beautiful tonight!" I tried to persuade him.

"Devin, I'm tired, can't we just go to bed," Conor replied as I had expected him to.

"We can lay a blanket out on the beach and you can sleep in my arms under the stars," I wasn't giving up.

Conor thought for a moment and finally stated with a small sigh, "Fine."

"Yeee, your the best," I said and gave Conor another quick peck on the lips before putting my mask back on.

I stood up and offered Conor a hand. He gladly accepted and I helped him up. "You've been planning this haven't you," Conor smiled at me.

"You know me too well," with that I grabbed a couple of folded blankets and grabbed Conor's hand and pulled him out the door and into the night.

The cold autumn wind penetrated into us like a blade. I brought Conor closer to me and wrapped some of my cloak around him. We walked side by side down a trail in the woods towards the coast.

The trail led us to a remote part of the coast, far away from the busy docks of Trunswick. I lay a blanket down and lay down on it. I patted a place on the blanket next to me, signaling for Conor to lay down beside me. He smiled and cuddled in next to me. It was a full moon and the moon's light shone down on the ocean and illuminated the beach around us. The stars twinkled in the sky overhead, and reflected in my boyfriend's eyes. "Devin, you were right, the sky is beautiful tonight," Conor stated lovingly as he lay his head on my chest.

Briggan howled in agreement. Conor had called him out of passive when we got to the beach. The great wolf cuddled around the two of us lending his warmth. We lay in silence after that, staring up at the sky. A few minutes later I heard Conor's gentle snoring. I smiled and silently thanked the heavens above for my loving boyfriend.
