Kirat's PoV -

I sat on my father's thrown overlooking the rest of the fort via the large windows that adored the main hall, my father had left on an important business trip the day before and he left me in charge of our territory. I kinda enjoyed the power, I could ask a servant to do anything and it would get done, high ranking merchants like my father came to me for advice, and best of all I could tell people what I really thought.

Who am I kidding, this job was horribly boring? Sure there was perks to this job but still, all I did all day was sit on a throne. When and only when he wanted Cabaro would wonder over to me and allow me to pet him. I sighed in boredom, there wasn't anything interesting to do.

Just then as if to make me eat my words a group of guards burst in. "Sir, were terrible sorry to intrude but we have just taken a prisoner, some Euran boy and his spirit animal entered into the fort without permission," the soldier continued, "no one knows how he managed to get inside the gates."

I nodded as I listened to this soldier, I was secretly happy that there finally as some news. "Sir, what should we do with the boy and his spirit animal, they are currently locked in the dungeon?" the guard finally finished his story.

"Is this boy a Greencloak?" I asked, this would help me to decide what to do with this boy, father hatted the Greencloaks and would want me to issue a punishment if he was one.

"No, sir, we don't believe he is," the guard replied.

I thought a minute. "The boy is fine where he is at, I'll be down in a minute to check on him," I stated with a wave of my hand to dismiss the guards.

After they had left Cabaro and I stood and made our way out of the main hall. I wondered down into the dungeon, the cells were dirty and damp. Rats skittered around the floor and two guards stood firm on either side of a cell, inside was a young brunette boy with sky blue eyes, he barely glanced at me as I walked nearer, "Do you guards not have anything better to do than to guard a young boy like this, he couldn't hurt a fly."

The guards simply gave a firm nod and marched away. "Is that a challenge?" the boy was finally looking up at me now, his voice sounded challenging but his eyes gleamed with laughter.

For a moment my heart fluttered a little in my chest, this boy was actually cute! A second later I shook the thought out of my head, he was my prisoner now, he shouldn't have been trespassing on my father's land. The boy now stood next to the iron bars of his cell. "Let me out of here and I'll take you on!"

"I see your plan, you can't fool me, once I let you out you'd run away and have your spirit animal fight me, I bet," I smirked at the boy, my own spirit animal Cabaro trotted up next to me as if challenging the prisoner.

"Is that Cabaro?" the boy stated excitedly, "I summoned a great beast too!"

There was a bright flash and a wild boar appeared from his passive state. "Rumfuss, he's your spirit animal!" I looked at the boy with astonishment.

"Yup, he sure is," the boy ran his hand along the boar's fur, the great boar let out a grunt of approval.

Cabaro had already stood and made his was to the rusted bars of the boy's cell. The boar stepped forward too and touched noses with the great lion as a sign of mutual respect. The majority of my surprise had warn off. "What were you doing sneaking around on my father's land anyway?" I questioned the boy.

"Rumfuss led me here, my brother and his friend have been on a mission in the area, I tagged along with my brother but after we got here I was left to myself," the boy continued, "Rumfuss refused to go anywhere but here, he must have sensed your own spirit animal," he explained, "my name's Dawson by the way."
