You sat in the library, doing some research for a case that Sam and Dean were on. They, or rather Dean, had begged you to stay with Jack, not trusting him to stay by himself at the bunker or to go on the hunt with them. Reluctantly, you agreed, never having met Jack and scared of what he was going to think of you. However, you and Jack had connected instantly and had become close, so close that he wouldn't stop bothering you. You knew that he wasn't really accepted in his own home, knowing very well that Dean was a complete dick to him, but it was getting kind of overbearing having someone bothering you nonstop.
Jack was very lovable and sweet. He was also very respectful, asking you if you needed anything as he sat with you while you researched. You would say no every time, but he would always ask an hour or two later. Despite all this, Jack was one of the most annoying people you had ever met. He would talk and talk and talk, leading you to become aggravated. You sighed, trying to hold yourself together as you told him to be quiet.
"Jack, sweetie, if you're quiet until the time I'm done, I'll take you out somewhere. I just can't be distracted because Sam and Dean need this by tonight." Jack tilted his head and smiled.
"Like to the park around the corner? Because I like the scenery." You smiled at his naivety and nodded.
"Yes, like to the park around the corner. And maybe if you're extra good, we'll go to the diner for dinner," you said as he shut his mouth, getting up to find a few books to occupy him. You felt bad for having to treat Jack like a child, but he wasn't going to listen to you any other way. You smiled contently as you started typing out a lengthy email to the boys about the monster. They were hunting a shtriga, a monster which was immune to all weapons unless it was feeding. You told them the location of it's hideout, thanks to Cas, and sighed as you read over the email making sure everything that you wrote matched your research.
"How long is this going to take," piped Jack as he looked up from the book he was reading. You held one finger up, silencing him as you typed the last of the email. You scrolled your mouse up to click the send button. You clicked it, sighing and leaning back in your chair. You looked at Jack as you nodded and he ran to go get his shoes.
You slipped on your boots as Jack waited patiently as you grabbed your coat, beckoning him to follow you to your car. Before you got into the car, Jack wrapped you in a hug, surprising you because of how sudden it was. You hugged back, smiling.
"Thank you," he said as he ran over to the passenger's side, leaving you to wonder why Dean hated that boy.
