Your heart started beating faster when you got a text from Charlie telling you she was on her way home from the vampire hunt with Sam and Dean. You and Charlie had been together for a few years, meeting a few months before she had met the Winchesters when they were after the man who ran the business she used to work at. Ever since that moment, you had all gotten closer, ultimately leading to a relationship sprouting between you and Charlie. Of course, she was the one that got close to Sam and Dean, always going on hunts with them. Nonetheless, the relationship had gotten pretty serious pretty quickly, leading you to start thinking about a family. The anxiety of talking to her about it was eating you alive, making you feel as if she was going to say no and that she was going to crush your dreams of a life with her. On the other hand, you knew that Charlie would never want to hurt you, so you didn't know why you were so worried.

"(Y/N), I'm home," you heard Charlie yell followed by the closing of the front door to your's and Charlie's apartment. You got up off of the bed in your shared bedroom, nervously making your way out to meet her. She smiled when she saw you, her green eyes shining. "Hey." Charlie kissed your forehead and wrapped you in a giant hug, easing your heart rate but only for a short amount of time. Charlie spoke into your ear. "Sam and Dean wanted me to tell you that they missed you this time around." When she pulled away, she looked at you funny and that was when you knew your nervousness was showing.

"Hey, Char, can we talk about something," you asked as she nodded hesitantly, taking your hand and taking you over to your living room couch. Charlie thumb was rubbing the back of your hand comfortingly, causing you to smile a bit as you truly felt the anxiety of the situation leave the room.

"Sweetie, you can tell me anything. As long as you're telling me you're breaking up with me, which you can't tell me 'cause I won't allow it," Charlie said, feigning seriousness. You laughed and leaned your head onto her shoulder, feeling happy and ready to tell her what you really wanted.

"Um, I was thinking we could start a family. Like adopt a kid or something." You looked into her eyes and smiled when she smiled, obviously wanting to follow through with this idea.

"R-really?" You nodded as she kissed you forcefully, smiling into the kiss. "So, are-are we going to adopt or is one of us going to have it? Personally, I think it would be better if one of us had the kid bu-" You felt your heart pang in your chest. She didn't want to adopt. But you did. The reason you proposed this idea was for the opportunity to be able to give an orphan a home but also to start a family with your favorite person in the entire world.

"Actually, I was thinking we could adopt," you said quietly as Charlie looked at you. "I like the idea of one of us having a kid, but I wanted to be able to give an orphan a home." Charlie furrowed her eyebrows and her smile turned into a bit of a frown.

"What if we can't find a kid that we click with?" Charlie was getting agitated, you could tell. "What if we find a kid that we absolutely love and someone else has already made the adoption official? At least of one of us has the kid, we'd be able to keep it and not compete with other families just to be able to make our own."

"Babe, I either want a kid that is fully both of ours, or a kid that isn't ours at all. If I have the baby, I want don't want you to be upset that it has some of my genes and vice versa," you said as you crossed your arms over your chest and shrugged. "If we adopt, neither of us would be upset about it not looking like us. We'd just be happy that we actually have the child!"

"(Y/N), adoption is a long and lengthy process-" Charlie was starting to yell, making you feel like you had to fight back.

"And so is pregnancy! You know what, Char, just forget I said anything at all. If we can't agree on something, than what's the point of even thinking about having one," you yelled as tears stung your eyes. You stormed off to your shared room, laying on the bed and crying. Who knew it would be so hard to agree on how you and Charlie were going to obtain a kid? Why didn't you just start off with asking about getting a pet instead of a living human child?

You heard the distant squeak of your bedroom door and then the side of the bed sink. You felt arms lifting you up, bringing you closer to the person's body. Knowing it was Charlie, you nuzzled your face into her neck, sniffling as you wrapped your arms around her. After what seemed like hours of silence, Charlie sighed and spoke up.

"I think you're right. I-I think we should adopt," Charlie said as she stroked your hair. "Pregnancy is too much, the kid won't be like both of us but just one. Adoption just makes sense." You chastely kissed her neck, causing her to giggle slightly. Smiling, you lifted your head up and looked into her bright, beautiful eyes.

"When do you want to start looking," you asked as her smile widened.
