Prompt: "I haven't seen you in a few days."
Loneliness was something that overwhelmed you. Your parents worked late everyday and you only had your dog and Netflix to keep you company. Your best friend, Jensen, had been spending way too much time with his girlfriend, a rude (well, rude to you) cheerleader named Carly, and would text you once every like 3 days, compared to how he used to text you literally every minute of everyday before he started dating her. You felt your phone vibrate on the cushion beneath you and you looked at it, noticing it was Jensen. Call me, now. The message was ominous, yet you did it anyway.
"Hey," you said as you heard him sniffle and the rev of an engine. "Are you al-"
"Are you home," you heard him say. "I-I need...please tell me you're home."
"Yeah. Yeah, I am." He sighed and sniffled again. "Jen, what's going on?"
"I'll tell you when I get there," he said before hanging up. He wasn't as happy and bubbly as he was usually. You resumed your movie, hearing the door open and shut a few minutes later. You tore your eyes away from it once you felt your dog jump off of you and sprint towards the hallway. You saw Jensen's green eyes peer from the hallway, making his way to you and shoving your legs off of the couch so he could sit. He grabbed some of the blanket and leaned his head on your shoulder.
"Hi," you said gently as Jensen snuggled into you. "What's up? I haven't seen you in a few days." You felt his hand under the blanket move and wrap around your middle, the small gesture sending a jolt through your body.
"She's a bitch," he said vaguely. You assumed he was talking about Carly, knowing that if he weren't, he would be speaking to her about it. However, you didn't want to wrongfully assume and have Jensen become mad at you. A mad Jensen was the last thing you wanted. As if to answer your internal question, he kept going. "Carly cheated on me with the quarterback, Jason I think? I don't even know his name, but fuck it hurt. We were gonna go out to lunch today. Instead, I found her kissing that fucker outside of our favorite store. I-I don't know why she did it. I treated her with so much respect, with as much respect as I could've mustered up with the way she treated all of my friends, mainly you." You rubbed his shoulder, feeling warm tears on your neck as he cried softly.
"You don't need her, Jen. She doesn't deserve a kind and sweet and funny and handsome guy like you," you said, hoping that calling him handsome didn't give any feelings away. "If she wants a more popular guy, she wants a more popular guy. But someone is gonna want someone as perfect as you. I know someone is gonna want you: a perfect gentleman with pretty eyes and a pretty smile." You felt a small smile against your neck as he sat up and wiped his tears, looking into your eyes.
"You think my eyes are perfect," he said mockingly. You pushed his shoulder slightly, earning a small laugh from him as you brought him close to you again. "I missed you. I'm sorry I've been a dick. I was just a-"
"A dumbass, a traitor, a dumb fuck who thought he was in love, a-" He cut you off with a huge laugh.
"Okay, okay. You're right," Jensen said as he laid down, bringing you down to lay on top of him. "Sorry I thought someone else was 'my girl' when the only girl I've got is you." You blushed as you snuggled your head into his neck, a comfortable silence overtaking the both of you, the only noise being the movie.
"So...do I get to see you everyday now," you asked.
"Of course you do," Jensen said, planting a tiny kiss on your forehead. "So, whatcha watchin'?"
"Our favorite," you said as his smile grew wide in realization. "I'm really glad you decided to come to me about this whole thing. I was missing you a little bit extra today."
"I'm just really glad that you don't hate my guts," Jensen said with a tiny chuckle.
"I could never."
