   11th Day of Christmas

Jack didn't know a single thing about human life. He didn't know birthdays, he didn't know customs, and he didn't know holidays. Christmas for him was just another day, but you knew you had to teach how special it actually was. Jack was looking for a case, apparently he was Sam's research buddy, so you decided you'd start teaching him now.

"Jack,  I want to show you something." You had set a tiny plastic tree up in your room the day before in preparation for the biggest holiday of the year. He reluctantly looked away from the laptop in front of him with a puzzled look on his face.

"What is it, (Y/N)," he said standing up and following behind you. Taking him to your room, you pointed at the small decoration sitting on your desk. Jack nodded his head, looked at you, then shrugged. "I'm looking at a small, fake tree. Is there anything wrong with it? Did it hit you?" You smiled at his naiveté. Grabbing the tree, you patted a spot next to you on your bed. Once again he was reluctant, but obeyed nonetheless.

"This, Jack, is a Christmas tree. I figured since you're going to be in the human world for a while, you'd want to know some of the customs. Christmas, hence it being called a 'Christmas Tree', is one of them. It's a holiday celebrating your grandfather's birth - "

   "You mean God?"

"Yes, I mean God. They celebrate his birthday that day, that day being December 25th. Some people go to church, others stay home with family. You know the boys and I, not ones for church, so we usually stay home or go on hunts. I wanted to be able to include you this year, and you needed to know what Christmas was in order for me to do that," you stood up off the bed and placed the tree back, sighing. "You can go back to researching now, if you would like."

"But (Y/N), why a tree?" Jack had the most intrigued yet confused look plastered on his face, making you chuckle.

"Well people buy things for one another and put them underneath the tree. The people then open them. They're called presents." He muttered that word to himself. Jack nodded once again and walked out the door of your room, leaving you wondering why he was so interested in something that was made for his grandfather.

You, Dean, Sam, Cas, and Jack were all sitting in the library exchanging presents. Jack didn't get anyone presents, having just learned about Christmas, so you all unspokenly understood. Every year you got the boys a new knife or gun, adding to the collection accumulating in the trunk and bunker. Cas was hard to shop for, but you got him a book on flowers the year before and had to follow it up with a book about bees. Jack was...well you didn't know what to get Jack besides his own laptop. He had been using Sam's and was annoying him to death.

   "I won't accept it. I can't. It's not fair because I didn't get you anything."

"Jack, presents are meant to be kept by the receiver," you said blushing slightly as he looked you in the eye and hugged you.

   "Thank you."

   "Of course."
