Cabin - k.th. + j.jg. [TaeKook]

It was springtime, and Taehyung finally didn't feel like the new kid anymore. He knew the schedule by heart, he knew the names of all of the kids in his grade and most of the other students didn't look at him like some foreign object anymore.

Some of them still did, but it was rather out of interest, than it was out of classification. They were no longer looking at him like they tried to understand all of his thoughts and mindset. Taehyung then suddenly went from his rather neutral expression, to a huge smile.

He had a play date with Jeongguk at his house today.

The two planned to walk home together directly from school, and then stock up on snacks to the cabin. It had been a while since they last did, and they were running on the remains of a bag of skittles and a single bounty bar. (Jeongguk refused to eat any candy bar except snickers.)

Suddenly the class seemed to drag on even more, and Taehyung sighed in frustration.

When class finally rung out and the classroom slowly emptied of exhausted children, Taehyung skipped out the classroom, and towards the second grader's classrooms. before he could get to Jeongguk's classroom, he was stopped by the sound of sobbing. But not just any voice.

Jeongguk's.

Taehyung dropped his backpack, and ran after the sound of a voice that slowly turned into two and then three the closer he got. Taehyung hoped that there weren't any others. He could take on two second graders on a good day, but three was pushing it.

As he a passed corner, the voices suddenly stopped.

He stopped and looked up to see Jeongguk on the ground, and two boys standing on either side of him, all three heads turned towards him. Taehyung's expression instantly changed. He knew it was about establishing dominance first if he had to win this. One of the boys visibly gulped.

"Jeongguk?" Taehyung then called out, although the seven-year-old was barely 10 meters away from him. Jeongguk choked on a sob, and looked down at the ground. Anger bubbled up in Taehyung. He quickly walked up to the two second graders, and was just about to smash his hands against one of their chest's, when he heard a small voice.

"Leave them be, don't become the bully Tae." Jeongguk managed to utter, as he now looked over at the older boy, eyes red from crying. Taehyung's eyes went to the unknown second grader's face, and the urge to punch that exact place was stronger than ever.

But he didn't.

Instead he stared directly into one of the bullies' eyes, as he opened his mouth to make them regret that they ever touched Jeongguk.

"I know who you are. I know your names." He didn't. "You can bet your ass that your mom and dad and the school will know if I ever hear from Jeongguk that any of you touched him again. You know who I am. Don't take this warning for granted. Now scram."

The bullies quickly shared a look, shocked by the words the older had used. They then let go of a backpack, one they probably had stolen from the younger as they bullied him, before running away, almost tripping more than once.

Taehyung huffed and then grabbed the small bag from the ground, before walking up to Jeongguk. He was in luck that he had recently watched an action movie with his big-brother. The threats were copy pasted directly onto his speech from there, and Taehyung thanked god that it had all worked out the way he anticipated.

He didn't even know the names of the bullies. They were too insignificant. But Taehyung reminded himself that he would have to learn the names now, just in case. But hopefully not.

His attention was then directed at the younger boy, who was hugging his own legs while trembling. Taehyung kneeled down, and wrapped his body around the boy's smaller one, in a comforting matter. Jeongguk was quick to let go of his legs, as he returned the hug.

But he didn't stop shaking.

"Jeongguk, what happened?" Taehyung asked, as he let go of the younger's body, only to hold onto his shoulders and looking into his eyes instead. Jeongguk adverted his gaze.

"Nothing."

"That was not 'nothing'!" Taehyung exclaimed. The younger started trembling more, and Taehyung was quick to pull him into another hug, almost making Jeongguk sit on his lap.

"I'm sorry for yelling, but that was not nothing. Please tell me what happened." Taehyung said in a softer voice. Jeongguk sniffed a single time, before looking at Taehyung.

"I was about to leave class, when I heard them talk badly about you. S-saying stuff like how you were stuck up, and a rich b-" Jeongguk stopped, but Taehyung stared hesitantly at him, making the younger continue. "A rich bastard. So I went up to them, and told them that it wasn't true, but then they stole my backpack, and pushed me to the ground." Taehyung looked at the backpack on the ground, and grabbed it to put it over Jeongguk shoulder, only to embrace the younger again.

"And then they started saying stuff like how I was only playing with you because you were rich, and how you.. you," sniff. "how you di-didn't want to play with me, and then would get rid of me soon." The younger started sobbing again, and Taehyung held his head against his chest, as he started stroking his hair.

"You know that's not true. I would never leave you. I would put up a fight if anybody tried to separate us. You know that, right Gukkie?" The younger smiled at the use of his nickname and nodded at Taehyung.

"I know Tae." Jeongguk said, snot running out of his nose. Taehyung used his sleeve to wipe it off.

"Let's go to my house and I'll get mom to give us some snacks, and then we can cuddle up on the sofa and watch Toy Story. How does that sound Gukkie?" Taehyung stopped stroking his hair, and held both of his cheeks in his hand.

Jeongguk looked up at Taehyung and then smiled widely, before kissing Taehyung's nose.

Taehyung's body stopped functioning for a second as he just blinked down at the younger.

"That sounds good, Taetae."

asdfghjkl I can't believe I just wrote another chapter. Originally I promised Tae_Okay and Animez1_3_2 a fluff chapter, but it turned rather angsty instead. Sorry guys, Ily! (:

Also, Cabin just hit 1k reads. I can not comprehend it. I really can't wrap my mind about how this story has been clicked on a 1000 times. Do you even know how much 1000 is? That's 10 hundres, or 100 tens. My point is that it's a lot, and that I am forever grateful. I love you guys <3 <3 <3
