"I have math in my next period, what about you?" Yugyeom looked expectantly at the older boy, whilst munching on a sandwich.
It was the lunch break for the Tuesday of their first week in middle school. At first, everything had seemed very big and too much for Jeongguk. But as the hours passed, he got more used to the long corridors, and the older students flooding the space. The fact that Yugyeom attended the same school as him had helped a lot too.
"Art, I think.." Jeongguk put his apple down, and grabbed the schedule from his backpack. "Yes, Art."
Yugyeom nodded, and continued eating his sandwich. They were the only ones sitting at the table, which both sucked and was a relief. On one hand, Jeongguk didn't want to be the outsider, while on the other, he really didn't want to socialize with new people.
He then grabbed his water bottle, and stood up, grabbing his backpack as well.
"What's up?"
"Gotta get to class now. I don't know where it is yet, and I don't want to be the last to get there." Jeongguk muttered. Yugyeom nodded at him, as he ate the last of his sandwich.
"I gotta get to math too. See you later."
Jeongguk nodded at Yugyeom before he turned around in a 180, and walked towards an exit of the canteen that he hadn't used before.
As he walked down the unfamiliar corridor, he realized he had no idea where Art class was. With few people in sight, he decided to approach the person closest to him. A girl with a big head of brown curly hair, and eyes as dark as his own. She was on her phone, backpack over her shoulder and the device in one hand.
As Jeongguk approached the unknown girl, she looked up before he could manage to utter a single word. She looked around his age, yet he had hoped she would be a year older than him so that she knew where Art was.
"Hey?" She said, looking at Jeongguk with furrowed brows.
Jeongguk held onto the straps of his backpack tightly, not used to making conversation with unknown people, as he muttered a quiet hi.
"What's up?"
"Do you know where Art is?" The girl instantly smiled, and put her phone into her pocket. It was a blue Nokia, one of the newer models. But not one as expensive as Tae's.
"Coincidentally, I happen to be walking there too." Jeongguk sighed in silent relief, as his grip on the backpack loosened. He was about to faint from just making small conversation with the girl, and finding out that she was having the same class as him, had never been a more pleasant surprise. "What's your name?"
"Jeongguk Jeon." Jeongguk said, taking the girls now outstretched hand and shaking it once.
"Jeongguk Jeon," the girl said, pronouncing it perfectly. Thank god, Jeongguk thought. "I'm Kiana Summers, it's a pleasure to meet you."
Jeongguk giggled slightly, as he nodded his head and uttered a 'you too'.
On the way to Art class, which Kiana fortunately knew where was, Jeongguk found out that Kiana was into dancing and climbing. She had told him about how her big brother used to climb and how she had tried it and liked it too. Jeongguk had told her about his old school, and also about Tae. But not too much, some of it was Jeongguk's, and Jeongguk's alone.
Kiana had smiled as Jeongguk told her about Taehyung. "He means a lot to you, don't he?"
Jeongguk blushed faintly, and nodded in reply as they entered Art class.

Apparently, Kiana was in three of Jeongguk's classes. Art, Physics and PE. Out of the three, Art was his favorite, whilst PE was Kiana's. Due to her climbing, she had to train often, and trained with her dad and brother two times a week. It resulted in her being the best of the class.
Jeongguk, however, was the worst.
He could barely climb the robes, and when they had to run a mile, he was the last, arriving when the others had started playing soccer. He nearly cried when they had to take laps around the school, and faked a fainting in the PE lesson they had to take the fitness gram pacer test.
"Maybe you have asthma." Kiana uttered after they had warmed up, water bottle in one hand, and the shoulder of a panting Jeongguk in the left. Jeongguk glared at her, and stood up.
"I don't think so. My physical fitness is just non-existent."
"That's not true. You're just so small, your body is having a hard time catching up." Kiana chuckled. "You need to drink more milk."
Jeongguk huffed as he walked to where they were supposed to be. Of course she could say that, she was the tallest girl in their grade. And she was only a few inches taller than Jeongguk.
"Do you know what we're doing today?"
"Dancing." Kiana replied, placing her bottle next to the wall, as she took her place next to Jeongguk.
"Dancing? Is that fun?" Kiana nodded like crazy.
"Are you crazy? It's the best thing in the world. Besides climbing, of course." Jeongguk groaned, and looked at the teacher as she started explaining things.
Jeongguk was about to give up, but as the music started, and the teacher showed the choreography, Jeongguk was enthralled instantly.
He gaped as he watched the teacher execute the dance flawlessly, and felt ready to start as soon as the music stopped, and the teacher told them all to stand individually.
Too soon, class was over, and Jeongguk was in a trance. He had never enjoyed PE that much, and as he walked to the changing room, he felt his breathing steady. He didn't feel out of breath like usual, but strangely alive. He couldn't wait to tell Tae everything about the newly discovered sport later.
He knew Taehyung would smile into the phone as he sat on the bed of his boarding school room, only to tell Jeongguk how it sounded so exiting, and that he missed the younger, the two already planning next time to meet up.
He was all smiles as he changed, until he heard some of the boys in his grade talking.
"I'm never doing that again."
"I know right? Did you see how awkward it looked. It totally sucked." The first boy laughed, as he changed into another shirt. Jeongguk felt a stinging sensation in his heart.
"Totally. How can anybody like dancing. It's so gay."
It's so gay. It's stung in Jeongguk's chest, and the feelings that had bloomed there were long forgotten. He quickly changed into his normal clothes, as he hurried out of the changing room. He really needed to find Taehyung, since his hugs would be the only thing to cheer him up.
He then remembered that Taehyung was not within reach, and his heart ached even more.
