Numbness.

Legs stiff, mind paralyzed and heart shattered. Was this what heartbreak felt like?

Jeongguk blinked the sleep out of his eyes, to be met with the familiar luminescent stars plastered to Kiana's ceiling. Jeongguk looked at the clock situated on the bedside table. It was 5:02AM. Kiana was probably still asleep, and the soft snore of the older girl proved his theory right.

He stood up, and trudged out of the room, leaving a sleeping Kiana behind before going to the bathroom, turning on the lights and carefully turning towards his own reflection on the mirror.

As he met face to face with his own self, he realized how much of a mess he was. He looked like he had slept a total of 10 hours the last week, dark bags underneath his eyes apparent as ever.

He sniffled lightly, grabbing the spare toothbrush he kept at Kiana's house. The least he could do was calm down his morning breath.

When he returned to Kiana's room, she was awake, carefully watching Jeongguk enter.

"How are you doing?" She asked softly, voice almost a whisper.

Jeongguk shook his head once, instantly regretting once his head started throbbing. He felt hungover, completely drunk on the strongest, most captivating and addicting drug of them all. Ripped from him, leaving him a mess, longing like an addict in rehab.

"Awful." Jeongguk muttered, before he went to grab his things that stood packed in a bag next to the closet. Kiana just stared worriedly at him, as he went to put on shoes.

"I'll skip the first few classes today, I need to get home and be by myself."

Kiana nodded, as she stood up, and put on a jacket over her pajamas.

"Need me to walk you some of the way home?" She asked. Jeongguk shook his head.

"It's okay."

Kiana quickly walked up to him, and then pulled him in for a hug. She then leaned her mouth towards his ear.

"Please take care of yourself, okay? At least just try."

He nodded before giving her a despairing smile and leaving her room.

As soon as he returned home, he went straight to his room, quickly got rid of his clothes, throwing them into the corner the furthest away from his bed and put on a shirt and underwear.

Then he dropped face first onto his bed, and cried his heart out.

He cried for what felt like hours, until his throat gave out and was nothing but a hoarse whisper. He cried until his temples began aching, and he couldn't do much but lay on his back trying to steady his breathing. He cried until he felt his entire body empty of the liquids, and his heart break a second time.

And when he finally decided that his body didn't have any tears left, he walked to the small bathroom trying to conceal his dry tears.

When he looked at himself a second time after waking up, he was in an even worse state than before. He sniffled a couple of times before splashing water to his damp cheeks, trying to calm the abused blush down.

He looked at the clock, and noticed it was already 9:30AM. He had an hour before next lesson begun. He could probably make it before class started.

So he went back to his room, grabbing whichever shirt felt the most soft and comforting, putting on a pair of sweats along with it. Fuck fashion when you could feel comfortable.

He quickly stuffed his backpack full of his homework and notes, before heading for the door. He glanced at himself in the mirror a couple of times, trying to style his hair in a way that looked both fashionable, and somewhat hid his eyes. He managed to.

He then started walking towards the school.

As little as he wanted to return to the hellhole of a building, and to see that face, the walk was very refreshing and Jeongguk got to freshen up like he wasn't on the verge of dying when he reached the school.

Due to the break having started, and classes being out for the short amount of time, the school was buzzing with life, students waddling around and chattering away with each other. They all seemed to preoccupied with their own words and phones to notice Jeongguk, and he internally thanked a higher power.

As he made his way to his locker, he grabbed his phone, sending Kiana a short text notifying her that he had arrived, before clicking on Yugyeom's contact. His fingers hovered over the keyboard for some time, before he shut off his phone.

He was going to have to call Yugyeom soon. A simple text would not do the experience justice, and he needed to rant. Yugyeom was the best ranting partner out there, Jeongguk knew from experience. And as much as he needed to get everything off his chest, he needed his feelings and his whole heartbreak-situation to calm down a bit before taking action. Hell, he wasn't even sure exactly what happened, and there was only one person to consult about that.

He knew he had to talk to Taehyung about this whole mess, and that was very difficult to take into consideration.

Jeongguk knew it wasn't just a case of bad phone coverage or a broken phone, because Taehyung had read his texts. Whatever that meant, it couldn't be good.

So his eyes scouted for Taehyung amongst the crowd of people filling the hallway, but to no luck. Instead he spotted Kiana, making her way towards him, looking somewhat frantic.

He furrowed his brows, as Kiana stopped in front of him.

"Kiana wha–"

"I spoke to his friends. Taehyung isn't at school today."
