The room was spinning.

The wall seemed nauseatingly yellow, and white noise was occupying his ear canal. It was as if his senses had been reduced to nothing but a blank canvas, only able to interpret color.

He felt the need to sit down, the need to drink some water and sober up. He knew doing it was for the better, yet he did nothing.

Voices were calling out his name, but they were spinning and seemed impossible to grasp. Could voices even spin? He was too far gone.

Way too far, he thought to himself. What was he actually talking about?

His newly acquired friend Jimin had left the party half an hour ago, and Kiana was nowhere to be found. She was probably sitting outside somewhere, preaching about the wonders of the universe to unfortunate bystanders. Probably. He could never be too sure with Kiana.

He grabbed his head. Was the alcohol leaving his body already? Jeongguk interpreted it as his clue to get up and go home. If he left now, he would still be able to blame any potential reckless behavior on the alcohol.

So he stood up, immediately regretting his decision. The spinning he experienced whilst sitting down was nothing compared to what he felt now. It was as if he was on an upside down rollercoaster going 100 miles per hour. Preferably, he would be on the rollercoaster, as it was probably less likely to make him feel sick.

So he ran, miraculously without stumbling or twisting an ankle, down the hallway and dramatically threw himself out of the front door.

His exit most definitely looked cooler in his mind than it did in reality. To onlookers, it just looked like a drunk bloke stumbling out of a door, only to less gracefully puke on the front lawn.

I did well, Jeongguk thought to himself as he dried off his lips with his sleeve and managed to get onto his feet again. Not sparing the guests that witnessed the entire scenario a second glance, he continued barefoot down the road in the general direction of his house.

Only then he realised that he was not wearing any shoes nor socks. But it didn't matter much. It wasn't like he was going to go back and get them. Thank god for alcohol, he thought as he stepped on a small rock for the second time.

Suddenly his phone went off. How he managed to bring his phone with him, but not his socks and shoes baffled even his drunk mind, but only for a second, before he remembered the chiming phone in his hand.

He brought it to his ear, not caring enough to check who was calling. If the caller was a scammer, so be it. It wasn't like he had anything to offer, and in the end, it would probably be the scammer losing patience with Jeongguk's drunk ramblings.

"'Ello?" He mumbled into the phone, sluggishly moving his hand to rub one eye. The other end of the line was silent, and he furrowed his brows, lifting the phone away from his ear and staring at it. Unknown Caller, it read.

"Hello, who is it?" He tried again. No response.

He grew more and more irritated with the silent caller on the other end, and finally he hung up.

"Fucking kids these days." He mumbled to himself. It was probably a kid pulling a prank on a random number, his number by chance, and who was he to tell off, when he did that exact thing with Taehyung when he was younger.

Taehyung. He hadn't wanted to think of him in a while, yet the boy occupied his thoughts 24/7. Thinking back, he regret spending as much time with him as he did, because almost anything he did these days would relate back to a memory with Taehyung.

But the party. Jeongguk had left it without even catching a glimpse of Taehyung. Had he even been at the party? Kiana did mention that he probably wasn't coming, so it really shouldn't have surprised him when he didn't show up. But it still did.

Taehyung was ever the unpredictable spirit. From his sometimes careless behavior to his spontaneous suggestions, he was not one to bet on. And that was what Jeongguk liked about him.

That was what Jeongguk loved about him.

What I love about him, huh, he thought to himself, sitting down on the patch of grass next to the road that he had been blindly walking on. The sitting turned to into laying, and suddenly he was staring up at the sky.

The stars were blinking down at him, and Jeongguk sighed. So much for love. He wished to be a star in that moment. To just shine carelessly and never worry about what was to come, knowing that tomorrow would always bring certainty and comfort. But he wasn't a star, and he wasn't careless.

He was merely a broken boy, longing for something that was now unreachable.
He had been looking for answers for too long, and finally in that moment he allowed himself to let go. The answers would come as time passed. This too, shall pass, he thought.

But as he let himself go, the tears followed. Tears filled with stress, with pain and with longing. But he knew that the tears would dry out soon, and all that would be left would be the salty residue on his cheeks and the memories.

So he let himself cry. As he laid on the grass, as the tears dripped down his cheeks and onto the grass, and as his eyelids began to swell just the tiniest bit, he knew that it would get better soon. He knew what he had to do. When he woke up in the morning with a killer headache and red eyes he had a plan. And knowing that, he was thankful.

This too, shall pass.

Hello all.

It's been a while huh ? About half a year to be exact, which is honestly way too long to keep you waiting. To those do you who've been keeping up with Cabin for a long time, I'm truly sorry for leaving you hanging for so long, with only my empty promises to hold on to.

I've just finished my first year of high school, and I'm on my way on holiday with my family as I'm writing this chapter. To be honest, my life is going just smoothly, which is why my absence makes even less sense.

I really want to tell you that I'll update soon, but I don't want to give you a false hope again. I hope for all of us, that I'll be able to finish Cabin at some point. Once again, I've not given up on Cabin.

But how have you all been ? It's been a while since the last time we caught up on each other ((: Are you on holiday, or are you still in school/ at work ? How are you generally feeling ? I'd love to hear all about it <3

As always, don't forget to like and comment if you feel like it. It truly makes my heart swell <3
