Class was dragging on, and Jeongguk couldn't really concentrate on what the teacher was saying anymore. All he understood was equation and solution, but even that seemed like too much to comprehend.

Jeongguk wasn't the only impatient one. Concealed whispers could be heard shared amongst the young students, all eager to leave class, to go home and enjoy the weekend that was to come. Jeongguk understood them. He was also very excited.

He was going to see Taehyung for the first time in six days. The past week Taehyung had been occupied by a family birthday, other children and a visit to the boarding school, but he had finally managed to find a hole in his (somewhat) busy schedule.

Jeongguk was very excited about the Friday.

They had decided to meet up at Jeongguk's and then walk to the cabin together. Taehyung would bring two of his fishing rods, and Jeongguk, who had never fished before, was looking forward to Taehyung teaching him about fishing.

It is definitely gonna be a good day, Jeongguk thought to himself.

As if on cue, the school bell rang, and students started flocking out of the classroom and into the hall. Jeongguk stood up to pack his belongings, when a familiar face approached him.

"Hey Jeonggie, what are you doing today?" Jeongguk smiled down at the smaller.

"I'm meeting up with Tae, Yuggie. Why are you asking?"

Jeongguk swung his backpack over his shoulder, as he left the classroom with Yugyeom. Yugyeom was wearing his new backpack. It was a brown-green, and way too big for tiny Yugyeom. It looked looked like something straight from Shrek's swamp, but Jeongguk hadn't commented on it. The younger had been so enthusiastic about showing the monstrosity to the slightly bigger boy, and Jeongguk didn't have the heart to tell him the truth.

Some things were better kept unsaid.

Soon enough the two boys split up, and went different ways to different homes. They had planned to be together tomorrow, since Yugyeom wanted to show Jeongguk another new thing he had received (Jeongguk hoped that it wasn't another deformed backpack).

As he entered his own home, he ran to his room to retrieve his waterproof trousers.

"How did it look?"

"Which?"

"The school, dummy." Jeongguk giggled, as he lightly pushed Taehyung's arm. Taehyung smirked, as he started pulling the fishing line towards himself.

"It was very modern. It was actually funny."

"Why?"

"Because I always imagined boarding schools to be these big old buildings, maybe with a tower or two. And old wise teachers. The only teacher I met was the one showing my class around, and she looked young." Jeongguk was in the midsts of trying to un-knot his fishing line, as he looked up at the elder.

"Like in Harry Potter?"

"Exactly like in Harry Potter!" Taehyung exclaimed. During winter break, Taehyung had insisted on watching the first two Harry Potter movies with Jeongguk. Jeongguk had been a bit scared, but Taehyung's endless rambling about the movies had taken away some of his angst.

Besides, when it got too scary, Jeongguk just leaned into Taehyung, and hid his face in the crook of Tae's neck. Taehyung hadn't minded.

"Ohh, I can't wait for Order of the Phoenix to come out." Jeongguk looked over at the older, praying that this wouldn't turn into another Harry Potter session.

"Have you even read the books yet?"

"Nope! Have you?" Taehyung asked back.

"I can't read."

"Oh," Taehyung kept his laugh inside, and continued. "You wanna hear some more about the boarding school?" The younger nodded.

"Well, it was very modern as I said, and the rooms were pretty big. But you have to share with two to three other guys when I go there," Taehyung grumbled a bit at that. He didn't really want to share a room with two unknown boys. "And boys and girls live in different buildings."

Jeongguk finally removed the several knots from his line, and threw the hook back into the water.

"Okay?"

"It seems alright I guess. But some of the kids seem stuck up." Jeongguk froze up.

"Don't let them change you," the fishing rod was long forgotten as Jeongguk looked up at the older. "Please."

"Of course not Gukkie. I could never become like them." He ruffled Jeongguk's hair, as he turned his attention back to the lake.

"Guk, you've got a bite!"

Jeongguk's attention immediately turned to the tugging of the fishing rod in his hands. It wasn't very powerful, but just enough to set the younger off his balance.

In the blink of an eye, Jeongguk was falling towards the lake, and Taehyung, being the hero that he was, obviously had to catch the younger. But catching a falling person was not as easy as it is in the movies, Taehyung came to realize.

Even though he managed to grab Jeongguk, and hold onto his waist enough so that he wouldn't land face first in the big puddle, they both ended up landing on their asses, right in the middle of the water.

Jeongguk stared wide eyed at Taehyung, small arms wrapped around the older's neck, as they stared directly into each others eyes.

And then Jeongguk leaned in, and pecked Taehyung's cheek lightly.

It took them a second, but the two of them immediately started wiping their lips and cheek repeatedly, Taehyung looking at Jeongguk with wide eyes, as the younger pulled away, falling into the water in front of Taehyung.

"What did you do that for!" Taehyung whisper-yelled as he stood up. Jeongguk did the same.

"I saw a girl do that to her friend after he caught her from tripping!" He yelled back, both of them stood in the middle of the lake, wet pants and all.

Taehyung looked confused for a second, before breaking into laughter immediately. Jeongguk stood still for a few seconds, before joining the older, both of them scaring what fish were left in the pond.

That's how the two boys ended up standing at the shoreline of the pond laughing until their throats hurt.

It's currently springtime in the story, just like it is irl. Spring is truly a beautiful season, and I feel like it inspires me a lot? idk im ranting hahah. Hope you enjoyed this chapter <3
