It was more than a year since Jeongguk had spoken to Taehyung.

After the cabin incident happened, before Taehyung were to attend high school, the two boys just never got around to chatting again. Maybe Taehyung had called, or been to the cabin, but Jeongguk wouldn't know.

As much as everything in the younger's body screamed for him to go to the cabin and grab his cellphone, he never did it. and now it had been more than a year.

In fact, two days earlier, Jeongguk had turned 15, and was finally deemed ready for high school.

Jeongguk didn't know too much about high school. All he knew about it was whatever knowledge Kiana had gotten from her big brother, which was not much since the two rarely ever spoke about school. They conversations were typically focused on dancing or which strange things had happened in class.

What he did know was that he was going to the same high school as Taehyung. This was something he had gotten from his mother. Apparently she still spoke to Taehyung's mother once in a while, and she sometimes asked Jeongguk about the other boy, only to receive a groan or as little as no answer.

Kiana was also going to the school, and Jeongguk couldn't be more than thankful. He was very worried he was going to start high school on his own after news about Yugyeom moving to New York surfaced.

Yugyeom had told him before the summer break of their last year in middle school. Jeongguk couldn't remember much from the day, since it just felt like a blur, but he remember breaking down into tears, and Yugyeom hugging him for quite a while, telling him he would try to visit him soon, and that they could still text and skype.

Jeongguk took a deep breath remembering all of this. Yugyeom was already in New York, and was probably on his way to his high school just as Jeongguk.

They were both taking a huge step in their life.

As Jeongguk continued down the sidewalk, thoughts about the school from what Kiana had told him and what his old classmates blabbered about during class occupied his mind. He had heard good things about the school, but it wasn't really the environment of the school that worried him.

What really worried him was being face to face with the boy who left him behind all those months ago.

Taehyung.

Although Jeongguk wasn't sure he was going to face the older boy anytime soon, he knew that Taehyung was attending the school, and had been for a year. Meaning that he definitely knew the school better, knew all of the students better, and probably was able to ruin Jeongguk's non-existing social life in a matter of seconds.

Jeongguk didn't know if Taehyung had intentions about turning his high school years into hell, but from the older continuously ditching Jeongguk, he wasn't really sure about anything that had just a bit to do with Taehyung's intentions.

Maybe Taehyung hated him. Maybe he just didn't want to be friends with a person a grade below him. How would Jeongguk know? Taehyung never gave him an explanation for what he did.

He sighed and kicked a stone, before seeing it tumble across the path, and almost hitting a car in the process. He winced slightly, as it stopped right before hitting and damaging the car, only to look up and realize he was right in front of the high school.
