I sat at the end of my bed in the bedroom Mayor Talon gave Kiera and I. In the room was two small cots pushed against opposite walls.

Kiera was in the bathroom, taking a shower, it's been a couple hours since Josh dropped us off, and although we weren't expecting visitors there was a sudden knock on the door.

I jumped from the sound, and walked over to open it.

Josh stood in the hallway, and rushed inside he seemed jumpy and scared.

I closed the door as he spoke.

"Where's the girl?" Josh asked.

"Kiera?" I questioned.

"Yes! Where's Kiera?" Josh asked.

I pointed to the bathroom door. Josh walked over to the bathrooms door and knocked loudly on the door.

"Kiera, come out here we need to talk!" 

We heard the water turn off and Josh turned to speak to me, he continued pacing up and down the room while I still sat on my bed.

"What is it?" I asked.

"I'm thinking" Josh spoke in a panic.

"About what?" I asked, Josh just seemed scared, he was rushed by something.

Kiera stuck her head out of the bathroom door, she had her body wrapped in one of the green towels that were supplied to us by the Mayor.

"What's going on?" She asked.

"The two of you need to leave" Josh spoke.

Kiera's faced became concerned.

"Alright, give me a minute" She spoke as she closed the door to get changed.

"Why do we need to leave?" I asked.

Josh took a deep breath, he stopped pacing and looked at me.

"Mayor Talon wants to execute you both, I'll be sneaking you out where your'll go somewhere safe" Josh spoke.

"So, you were thinking about what then? How to sneak us out?" I asked.

"That's exactly what I was thinking" Josh spoke with a grin as he looked at the bedrooms window next to me.

Kiera walked out of the bathroom, wearing the same set of clothes she wore from the laboratory. 

"Why does Mayor Talon want to execute us anyway, did we do something wrong?" I asked.

"No, In fact he mainly wants to execute you for more or less a example, see his workforce as gotten quite lazy as of late, and he wants to reinstate fear in them to get this city properly repaired. As for Kiera, he actually wants to test on her further to see if, well he basically plans to marry you" Josh bluntly put it.

"What? No thanks" Kiera spoke crossing her arms and slugging back onto a wall.

"Do you guys have your things?" Josh spoke.

Kiera and I looked around the room and realized we didn't really have anything that belonged to us other then the set of clothes we were wearing and the weapons we had on us.

"Yeah" I spoke.

Josh opened the certain of our bedrooms window, revealing to us that it was just after sunset. It was still quite bright outside, but also dark enough for people not to see us from a distance.

"Let's go then" Josh spoke opening the window and climbing out and over the side of the window, hanging from the windowsel and then letting go, dropping to the grass below. We were only one story up
