The Forgotten World
?I first remember darkness.
Falling, for what seemed like ages, but not the normal type of falling that one would expect when you fall off a cliff, or when you take a leap from one building to another. More like a infinite abyss of nothingness unsure if one was falling or simply just floating.
Then, I was consumed by a bright white light.
I remember screams of people not sad, or scared, but excited.
They were shouting out numbers, and I remember sand, I was on my knees with the bright light shinning down on my sweat covered face.
After that, darkness once again.
Now, I was floating once more, but this time it wasn't a infinite abyss of nothingness, instead the area around me pushed against my hands and legs as I tried to move them.
I felt trapped, then I realized this force was water.
And I woke up.
The white light from outside the water was bright, and the water covered my entire body, I wore a mask over my mouth, that gave me oxygen so I could breathe, I realized the bright light was shinning through a glass window in front of me. I was in some sort of human sized test tube.
I had multiple wires and tubes attached to my body, and in a struggle I managed to rip them off. and started pounding on the glass in a attempt to break it open. To get a better angle of the glass I ripped the mask off my face and held my breath.
I made a crack, then a few more, and soon enough the glass smashed open sending me flying out of the test tube with the water in it.
The water spilled all over the floor of the room, the floor was white, and tiled.
I coughed on the fresh oxygen entering my lungs and for the first time, I realized I was wearing some kind of patients robe, it seemed to dry incredibility quickly, as I tried to stand up.
I slipped and landed straight on my tail bone, My legs and arms felt weak as if they haven't ever been used, or at least haven't been used for a long period of time.
I struggled again to get to my feet, and this time, I made a successful attempt.
I looked around the room, and realized mine was not the only test tube, in fact there were two long rows of human sized test tubes along this room.
I looked back over to mine, smashed open and barely any water left in it, I saw a small computer display next to the test tube, holding what I assumed was information about the person inside.
I struggled to walk over to the test tube's display, trying not to slip on the water.
When I reached the test tube's display, I placed a hand on my test tube to insure I didn't slip and began to read what the display had on it.
Test Subject 002:
I've finished testing the PJS on the test subject and will be moving on to a different laboratory for further testing. Test subject will remain here should I have a need for him in the future.
As I finished reading it, I began to question where I was. This seemed like some sort of laboratory, as the display suggested.
Test Subject 002 was clearly me, but who was I?
I felt my heart sink to my stomach, not literally but in the sense that I was extremely overwhelmed with fear.
Who was I?
