Together We Rise!
Ace Baillieu
A Few Months AgoI sat ontop of the lookouts nest. These cold woods surrounding the church were scary. Hell, everything nowadays was scary.
I had a large bottle of scotch, and was sucking it back as I looked down at the woods.
What the hell were those things out there? Where the hell was Karma?
I heard someone climbing up the ladder, and puffed in frustration after seeing it was my father. Tomas Baillieu, he had black hair, a goatee and wore a red hoodie.
He may have led this place, as well has owned the property but he was no priest.
He believed in god, and he was a honorable man, but he had a different passion, he was a architect. The church was led by several other hired priests, the church itself was built by my great grandfather, who was a priest.
I on the other hand had little to no faith in god nowadays. I mean, if God's intentions were to wipe out billions of people? He can't be worth my time.
I already knew what my father was going to say before he said it, he took a seat next to me on the small wooden bench on the watch tower.
"What's troubling you son?"
I rolled my eyes, not answering.
"Is it Michelle? I'm sure she'll be just fine" My father promised. "I have a feeling that Michelle will find you soon"
I shook my head. My father was so arrogant, so full of hope
"Dad, you don't get it. Everything is gone, everyone is dead. Society, morals, rules, hope, they all died the day the dead started walking the earth!" I shouted standing up from the bench and throwing the bottle of scotch to the woods.
I sat back down in frustration, realizing that I just got rid of my only bottle of scotch.
I saw a few of the undead stumble out of the woods and make there way to the front gate, where Damon stood holding a bow and arrow.
"Wrong, we still have morals, we still have hope, and we can make our own rules and our own society" My father spoke to me.
"Oh yeah? Built on what?" I challenged.
He took a moment to think about it, then spoke.
"Sacrifice" He explained.
"What?"
"Sacrifice, in the old world, we built on trust and love. Here it is Sacrifice, do whatever you can to defend those that you love and keep society alive. Look at this place for example, this was our save haven but we are taking dozens of randoms strangers in and protecting them. We don't know if they are good people or murderers, but we are sacrificing ourselves and our own safety to hopefully save others" My father finished standing up.
"Tomas we have a problem!" Damon shouted from the gate, there were dozens of undead now crowding the front gate.
"Remember that son" He spoke patting me on the back and turning back down the ladder, to deal with the undead.
And to die by them.

Present Day
Jayce Slade
I stood on the wooden stage, dressed in a nice black tuxedo. Apparently the city still had a few tailors that were able to put together outfits for the wedding party. We stood out on the beach, near Sandlock's ruins and on the water, it was beautiful at this time of the year.
