Desperate Attempt
Jayce Slade"And your sure this will work?" Cassi asked as I hooked myself up to the zip line. The plan was for South, Cassi and I to go down the line. We were supposed to go down one by one, and South was already at the bottom, it was now my turn, with Cassi going last.
"Absolutely" I spoke hoping to give a confidant voice, Beta made sure I was hooked up right, apparently he has done this before so I trusted his opinion.
"Alright man, your all good" Beta spoke patting me on the back "Good luck"
I nodded and smiled, as Beta grabbed my harness and pushed me down the zip line. I kept my pistol by my side. They suited me up in nearly head to toe body armor.
I didn't take the stupid looking helmet, and the boots were kinda useless, but other then that I was packing.
I looked out to the mountains, they appeared so peaceful. The snow on the tips of these mountains appeared soft, and pure compared to the wasteland down here.
The side of our mountain was still covered in the undead, and I saw Jeff's landed ship at the bottom of the mountain, cannon and drum sounds echoed across the land like a reminder. "Welcome to hell" the sounds would say.
I began to question why I was even fighting this war. Ryder is doing it for his family, Charity is for the safety of her people, Kiera wants peace and a better tomorrow for the next generation.
I was just here, keeping myself busy.
South was waiting for me at the bottom, and when I came to a stop she helped me get out of the harness.
"How was the ride?" She asked with a laugh.
"Fun actually" I answered climbing out of the harness as she moved it out of the way for Cassi.
South had a strap for a sniper rifle over his shoulder, with the rifle on her back. Also a pistol at her side. I happened to have grabbed a small spear, ranging in at only five feet long. Which may seem long but for a spear that's nothing, and of course my five seven handgun.
"Should we wait for Cassi, or go help Jeff and his crew?" I asked.
South was looking up the mountain for Cassi, she wasn't coming for some reason.
A few moments passed, then South spoke. "Somethings wrong"
BANG!
The gunshot echoed from the top of the mountain, and the single gunshot was only the start of a army's worth of gunshots from the Dojo.
Something was definitely wrong.
I grabbed a pair of binoculars from my side and looked through them up to the gate of the Dojo, and it was as I feared. The zombies were pouring inside.
Cassi and the others should be able to hold there own but for how long?
"We need to hurry this up" I spoke turning and running towards Jeff and his team. South was running behind me, asking questions about what was wrong, what happened to the Dojo. But I didn't answer her, I was hellbent on reaching Jeff and working harder to get these zombies off of our mountain.
When I reached the ship I found that they dug a ten foot deep hole in front of the ship facing the mountain.
Charity and the few Blakwall Knights were also on the ship, yelling, banging drums, shooting cannons and throwing flares to get the zombies attention.
South and I climbed up the side of the ship, and I shouted to Charity and Jeff who I found side by side both making as much noise as possible.
"We need to hurry this up! The zombies got inside up there!" I shouted. Jeff held up his peter pointer finger and ran inside his captains cabin. Only to come out a moment later dragging a huge speaker behind him.
