Chapter 22 - Friend Request

The moment Before Dawn took the stage, they already owned it. Their presence was obviously overwhelming. Kahit ang ibang mga busy sa pagkain at kung ano pang mga usapan ay hindi maiwasang sulyapan sila. With their handsome looks and instruments on, they undoubtedly demand everyone's attention in that resto.

"Hello guys" boses ni Kuya Lance ang una kong narinig. I took my phone out from my purse and opened the camera app to take some pictures and maybe, videos too. When I glanced at the stage, I saw my brother giving me some gestures. Kuhanan ko daw siya ng picture. I faked a grimace first but then I held my phone and obliged.

Beside Kuya Lance was Eros who's at the center. Katabi naman ni Eros si Alexis na may hawak ding gitara. His blond hair's quite an attention grabber. Nasa medyo likod naman sina Justin at Ian both equipped with their keyboard and set of drums. Nang ibalik ko ang tingin sa harapan, my gaze caught Eros holding the microphone with his left hand, eyes on the crowd and the other hand touching the strings of his guitar.

"You guys ready?" he whispered on the microphone with the tone worthy of one description. Uhm...sexy?

After a few seconds, the lights on the crowd went dim. Then all of a sudden, biglang nagkaroon ng bluish spotlight sa mini stage. The beat started. I grabbed a tight hold of my phone facing the stage. Eros sang the first verse and all eyes and ears were immediately on him.

Nang marinig ko yung boses ni Eros, hindi ko maiwasang maisip yung time na patago (supposedly) ko siyang kinunan ng candid picture noong may group study kami kina Meg. Hearing his voice tingled my skin. For the second time...aaminin kong ang ganda talaga ng boses niya. Psh.

Kuya Lance took the next verses.
Mukhang feel na feel niya yung pag-strum ng guitar niya at pagkanta. In all fairness naman, kahit hindi kasing ganda ng boses ni Eros, he still rocks. On the other hand, those two guys behind them, Justin and Ian were incredibly doing great too.

I saw a few girls giggling nang tumingin sa kanila si Kuya after singing his part. Seems like he got a couple of fangirls, eh? Pagbalik ng tingin ko sa stage si Eros na ulit ang kumakanta. May ilan akong narinig na sumabay sa chorus.

Naka-focus ang tingin ko sa phone ko. Kinukunan ko kase siya ng video. Kaso medyo muntikan ko nang mabitiwan yung cellphone nang makita ko siyang biglang tumingin sa gawi ko. Is it just me or...tumingin talaga siya sa akin?

I shook my head lightly. I dismissed the thought nang mapadako ang tingin ko kay Alexis na kinakanta ang sunod na mga verse. Pangiti-ngiti pa siya habang kumakanta. Mukhang nag-eenjoy.
