Chapter 30

I had decided to take a better look into the secret level fury took us to. I don't entirely trust this mortals. They lie and cheat to much .

I make it to his office and start to look around.

Steve said he was going somewhere in the S.H.I.E.L.D. head quarters. He needed answers from some people.

It's quiet today. News of fury getting hurt is out and i feel on edge. S.H.I.E.L.D. is never a quiet place.

I slip into his actual office office using his key card. There was a cabinet to the side. "Guess you can't really hack paper." I smile and open the cabinets. Plans and blue prints of S.H.I.E.L.D. since it's beginning is in it. Signatures of treaties and other important documents fall out.

I pick up some of the old ones and to my surprise "This is .... "

"Avinna!" Steve's mic rings in my ear.

"Huh... huh... steve?..."

I hear glass shatter.

"I need an escape plan. Any ideas???" He's sounds like he's in an intense fight.

Then a shot gets fired at me. I turn to a couple S.H.I.E.L.D. agents. "Roger. I'll be there to pick you up." They finally get through the office glass door.

I looked to the two agents. "You wouldn't happen to know the time would you?"

"I'm sorry. But this will hurt." They aimed their guns and I Grabbed the liquid inside of them and threw them across the room.

I walked up to them and look for their communication pieces. "Steve. I'll be there soon. What floor are you on?"

I gather water from my pouches and create my wings. I grab a gun and run towards the glass window. I shoot at it a couple times and break through it.

Steve uses his shield to break off the elevator wires which sends the elevator down. "Im coming to the ground floor fast."

He forces the doors open he sees more STRIKE agents approaching him, he closes the door and looks for a way out. "Avinna..."

As I fly high to see where steve is I watch as a Quinjet flys out and follow it to steve. "Give it up, Rogers! Get that door open! You have nowhere to go!"

Steve breaks through the glass in the elevator and plummets down to finally hit the ground floor, he gets up and starts running.

I see the Quinjet emerges ahead of him
Quinjet Pilot "Stand down, Captain Rogers. Stand down."

the Quinjet lowers its machine gun "Repeat, stand down."

As Steve doesn't stop I fly towards him. 

they start shooting at him, Steve throws his shield into the propellers to jam it.

I pick him up. As he grabs his shield. "Took you long enough!" He breaths heavily.

I fly him to an outlet mall and we pick out some clothes to change into.

We were in hoodies at the hospital because Steve needed to retrieve the flash drive from the vending machine.

We walk in steve examines the machine while I keep watch.

"it's gone" steve stands next to me.

then Natasha appears behind him chewing some gum.

In anger I pushes her into a room. "You hag I know you have it!"

Steve follows "Where is it?"

Natasha Looks at steve "Safe."

Steve hits the wall " Do better!"

Natasha Eyes him "Where did you get it?"

I was about to hit her but Steve took me off her.

Steve looks back at her "Why would I tell you?"

Natasha stares steve down "Fury gave it to you. Why?"

Steve folds his arms "What's on it?"

I move close to her. Natasha looks at me upset. "I don't know."

Steve upset. "Stop lying!"

I slap her. And Steve moves me away from her again.

"Ouw" Natasha rubs her cheek "I only act like I know everything, Rogers."

"You conniving little bitch!" I threw a chunk of ice at her.

"Ouch" Natasha rubbed her face again.

Steve looked at me with warning. " I bet you knew Fury hired the pirates, didn't you?"

Natasha "Well, it makes sense. The ship was dirty, Fury needed a way in, so do you."

Steve "I'm not gonna ask you again."

Natasha "I know who killed Fury. Most of the intelligence community doesn't believe he exists, the ones who do call him the Winter Soldier. He's credited with over two dozen assassinations in the last fifty years."

Steve "So he's a ghost story."

Natasha shakes her head. "Five years ago I was escorting a nuclear engineer out of Iran, somebody shot out my tires near Odessa. We lost control, went straight over a cliff, I pulled us out, but the Winter Soldier was there. I was covering my engineer, so he shot him straight through me."

she pulls up her shirt to show him the scar on the side of her stomach. "Soviet slug, no rifling. Bye-bye bikinis."

Steve "Yeah, I bet you look terrible in them now." there's a hit of a smile from Natasha and I punch a hole in the wall and walk out.
