I'm watching the news blow up the screens shocked at the sight and thinking of Natasha.
I see Steve the same time Sam does.
Sam Speaks first "There's something you gotta see"
News anchor #4: A bomb hidden in a news van...
Sharon Talks in the phone "Who's coordinationg?"
News anchor #4: ...ripped through the UN building in Vienna.
Sharon Still on the phone "Good. They're solid. Forensics?"
News anchor #4: More than 70 people have been injured. At least 12 are dead, including Wakanda's King T'Chaka. Officials have released a video of a suspect who they have identified as James Buchanan Barnes, the Winter Soldier. The infamous HYDRA agent, linked to numerous acts of terrorism and political assassinations.
Sharon Turns to us "I have to go to work."
Steve hugs her and she leaves.
"Natasha steve. She's there!" I get Steve's attention then I whisper to Sam as Steve dials Natasha. "Sam... Bucky...." Sam looks torn.
Steve phones Natasha. Me and Sam across from where Natasha should be.
Natasha on the other end "Yeah?"
Steve "You alright?"
Natasha "Ah, yeah, thanks. I got lucky. I know how much Barnes means to you. I really do. Stay home. You'll only make this worse. For all of us. Please."
Steve Serious now "Are you saying you'll arrest me"
Natasha "No. Someone will. If you interfere. That's how it works now."
Steve "If he's this far gone, Nat, I should be the one to bring him in."
Natasha "Why?"
Steve "Because I'm the one least likely to die trying." Not far away Steve ends the call.
Steve approaches Sam and I sitting at the counter of a coffee shop.
Sam Starts off "She tell you to stay out of it? Might have a point."
Steve Shakes his head "He'd do it for me."
Sam Shrugs "1945, maybe. I just want to make sure we considered all our options. The people that shoot at you usually wind up shooting at me."
Sharon seems to always arrive right on time. "Tips have been pouring in since that footage went public. Everybody thinks the Winter soldier goes to their gym. Most of it's noise. Except for this." She slides Steve a file. "My boss expects a briefing, pretty much now... so that's all the head start you're gonna get."
Steve Thanks sharon with extreme gratefulness.
Sharon then adds "And you're gonna have to hurry. We have orders to shoot on sight."
