It's been a couple years. Carol and I have helped many many planets. I have talk to steve on and off but when I see all these fathers with no kids or kids with no parents or even wives who lost their husbands I can't help but feel responsible.
As I lay on a green beach on yet another planet, I look up thinking about what I could've done differently.
I feel a vibration buzzzzzzzbuzzz
I take out my communicator.
"This is Avinna."
"Hey Avinna I'm on my way to get you. Apparently tony found a way to go back in time." Nebula says in her nonchalant tone.
"What are you talking about?" I say as a wave of water moves away from me.
"Tony and some ant man came up with a way to time travel!"rocket yells with excitement.
A huge wave of water washes over me.
I sit up fast. And I take in a breath. "Where are you?"
"Two systems out." Nebula says.
Hope. ...
...
The hatch gets lowered and I walk on.
"So how fast can we get home?" I say anxious to know if it's true or not.
"We'll get there." Rocket says and flies off.
"You know I was upset at you for a while." Nebula says to be as she leans against the wall.
"Everyone is. Welcome to the club." I look at her with tired eyes.
"I used to blame you for not destroying him and stopping him from getting that far." She walks towards me slowly.
"Yeah well I'd blame me too." I look back at her.
"But after time passed on I realized we are all in the same boat. .." she puts her hand on my shoulder "we all fought him... none of us did any real damage. And we all lost."
"Yeahh.... that didn't really make me feel better." I squeeze my lips together and raise my brows.
"It wasn't for you. It's was for me." She then walks away.
I make a small smile at the moment of familiarity.
......
We finally land and I see Scott sitting outside. His taco scattered all around because the ship's wind.
"James careful on the landing there's an idiot outside." Nebula coms in.
I smile. "Scott." I stand next to him.
DOM James lands scaring Scott and nearly giving him a heart attack.
Scott yells "Oh, God!"
James smiles "What's up, regular sized man?"
As Rhodey walks away, Bruce walks out of the Compound. Seeing that Scott dropped his lunch, he hands two tacos from his own lunch to Scott. Scott takes it while giving Bruce a puzzling look at this act of kindness.
"Gotta love the big guy." I smile.
