Chapter 121

We're all gathered in the Avenger's Lab. I hold Steve's hand as Tony carefully places the stones in the gauntlet he made while Bruce and Rocket watches. With nervous precision, Tony manipulates the machine and carefully places all six stones into the gauntlet.

Rocket loudly says "Boom!"

Tony and Bruce jump a bit, and quickly groan at Rocket's joke.

Soon we move into another room so everyone can see it. Everyone is gathered around it.

Rocket starts off "All right. The glove's ready. Question is, who's gonna snap their freaking fingers?"

Thor first volunteers " I'll do it."

Scott is the first to react "Excuse me?"

Thor uses his everything is gonna be alright voice "It's okay."

James Steve And Scott hold Thor back "No, no, no, whoa. Stop. Stop. Wait a sec. Hey, hey..." they all respond.

Steve tried to talk some sense into Thor "Wait, wait, wait, Thor, just wait. We haven't decided who's gonna put that on yet."

Thor shakes his head " Oh, I'm sorry. What, were you just sitting around waiting for the right opportunity?"

Scott looks him in the eyes "We should at least discuss it."

Thor argues "Look, us sitting here staring at that thing is not gonna bring everybody back. I'm the strongest Avenger, okay? So this responsibility falls upon me. It's my duty."

I walk up to Thor "It's not like that..."

Thor puts a finger on my lips and his. He hushes everyone up. "It's... stop it! Just let me." he tears up. "Just let me do it. Just let me do something good. Something great."

I look at him. I see how much pain he is in.

Tony starts speaking "Look...It's not just the fact that that glove is channeling enough energy to light up a continent, I'm telling you you're in no condition."

Thor shakes his arms "What do you think is coursing through my veins right now?"

James says under his breath "Cheez Whiz?"

Scott "Beer?"

Thor answers "Lightning."

I hold both Thor's hands "Yes... and you have a beautiful soul. Your every intention of doing this is correct but I'm afraid it's only in your best interest to understand being strong isn't all that you need. You're not level headed. You're emotional.. please... let us talk about it."

Thor wipes his tears and agrees.

Bruce steps up "Lightning won't help you, pal. It's gotta be me. You saw what those stones did to Thanos. It almost killed him. None of you could survive."

Steve Asks "How do we know you will?"

Bruce steps up to the gauntlet "We don't. But the radiation's mostly gamma." He takes a good look at the gauntlet "It's like...uh...I was made for this."

We watch as Bruce grabs the gauntlet. Tony watches closely "Good to go, yeah?"

Bruce nods "Let's do it."

Tony nervous about losing his daughter "You remember... everyone Thanos snapped away five years ago and just bringing them back to now, today. Don't change anything from the last five years."

Bruce nods "Got it."

Everyone gets ready and suits up. Tony makes a nano shield for him and Scott. James does the same. Steve Clint Rocket And Thor ate behind my thick layers of ice wall.

Toby Speaks "F.R.I.D.A.Y., do me a favor and activate Protocol 8."

F.R.I.D.A.Y. Yes, boss.

Avengers facility goes on lockdown. Metal doors cover everything. Even dividing each room.

Bruce looks to us all. Then the gauntlet. "Everybody comes home."

Bruce puts on the gauntlet and the power surge overwhelms him. He grunts in pain.

Thor pushes me forward "Take it off. Take it off!"

Steve pulls him back "No, wait. Bruce, are you okay?"

Tony getting nervous "Talk to me, Banner."

Bruce grunts our "I'm okay. I'm okay."

Thor gives a double thumbs up.

Bruce screams, fighting through the intense pain coursing through his body courtesy of the gauntlet, and manages to snap his fingers. He faints. 

the gauntlet slides off his arm and Clint kicks it away.

I yell "Bruce!" I go to him but tony says "Don't move him."

Bruce holds onto Steve's arm "Did it work?"

Thor says "Worth a shot. It's over. It's okay."

I snack his arm.

Scott walks towards the outside windows and sees plants and birds.

Clint hears his phone ringing and sees it's his wife calling.

Clint picks it up slowly struggling to speak from sheer happiness "Honey. Honey"

Scott yells "Guys...I think it worked!"

Bruce opens his eyes and sees the Sanctuary II up in the sky and a single missile heading towards the base blowing away Scott away.

Then a continuous array of missiles destroys the base completely and everyone sinks below to the underground.
