I walk into the bathroom after getting out of the bed; a conjoined one between Elena, Jeremy and I, and see them in there. "Oh, sorry. Too crowded?" I ask. "Oh, no, it's cool, I'm done." Jeremy says and Elena and I grab our toothbrushes. "You're up early. Where are you going?" I ask. "Police station. They're organizing the search party for Vicki, so..." He says and is about to walk out of the bathroom. "Wait. Shouldn't you be going to school?" Elena asks. "What? You're kidding me, right?" He asks. "You shouldn't skip school. If they find her, we'll know. That's what cellphones are for." Elena says as we look at him. "Yeah, your lips keep moving. I don't know why." He says and walks off.
I arrive to the Salvatore Boarding House with Elena and after she rings the bell, Damon opens the door, smiling at us. "Is Stefan here?" She asks. "Yep." He says. "Where is he?" She asks. "And good morning to you, little miss 'I'm on a mission' and Mr. Smartass." He says, grinning. "How can you be so arrogant and glib after everything that you've done?" She asks, crossing her arms. "And how can you be so brave and stupid to call a vampire arrogant and glib?" He asks. "If you wanted us dead, we'd be dead." I say. "Yes, you would." He says. "But we're not." I say. "Yet." He says and Elena sighs. "Where is Stefan?" She asks. "He's upstairs singing 'The Rain in Spain'. Knock yourselves out." He says and walks out the door, and Elena shuts it with her left hand, and we start walking. "Stefan?" She asks and we hear a creak and turn around. "Stefan?" I ask. "Yes." He says and we turn around, seeing him at the top of the stairs. "Where is Vicki?" Elena asks. "She's upstairs." He says and walks downstairs, over to us. "What happens now? Because my brother is out there searching for her with the rest of the town. What do we tell him?" She asks. "I'm working with her, but it's gonna take time. She's a very volatile and impulsive personality. She's a drug user. I mean, all that's gonna play a part in how she responds to this." He says. "So, she's a vampire with issues?" I ask. "What am I supposed to do? Because we're lying to everyone that we care about. What's gonna happen to her?" Elena asks. "I'm gonna keep her here with me until I know that she's safe." He says. "How long is that?" Vicki asks and we see her at the first step leading up to the very top steps. "We can talk about that later." Stefan says. "Hey, Vicki, how are you?" Elena asks. "How am I? You're kidding, right?" Vicki asks.
I'm sitting down in the dining room in between Elena and Stefan; him on my right. "Coffee is our friend. It's the caffeine. It circulate through our veins, and it warms our body so we're not so cold to the touch." Stefan says. "Well, what if I want to drink human blood?" Vicki asks. "You're gonna have to learn to live with that urge and fight it on a daily basis one day at time." He says. "Oh god Don't start with that whole twelve steps thing. School counselor has been down that road, and it doesn't work for me." She says. "It can work. It's your choice, Vicki." He says. "So you've never tasted human blood?" She asks and we all look at Stefan. "Not in a long time." He says. "How long?" Vicki asks, smiling and Stefan sighs. "Years and years. I'm not proud of my past behavior." He says. "Does this sketchy feeling ever go away? It's like I have a massive hangover. This daylight thing is a bitch." She says, standing up. "I need more blood. Where's your bathroom? I have to pee. Why do I have to pee? I thought I was dead." She says and walks off. "I have to go, too." I say, standing up and walk the other way that Vicki went.
I'm talking with Stefan and Elena near the front of the house after hearing about how Vicki threatened Elena. "She threatened me." She says. "She's on edge. Imagine every sense in your body operating at super speed. I mean, she's uncomfortable in her own skin. And then when you throw in her other issues--" He says and I interrupt him. "How long before it settles? Hours, days, weeks?" I ask and he shakes his head. "There's no rule book." He says. "Well, how long before you learned to control it?" Elena asks. "A while, But I didn't have anybody helping me. I had to do it on my own. The thing is it's hard to resist certain people especially when you're new, it's difficult to separate your feelings. Love, lust, anger, desire-- it can all blur into one urge-- hunger." He says. "What does that mean?" She asks. "It means that Jeremy can't see her, not now. She might not be able to resist him, and she could hurt him." He says, shaking his head. "Or worse." I say. "I'm not gonna let anybody get hurt." He says. "I need to get going." Elena says. "Elena--" He says and she interrupts him. "Please Stefan. There's only so much I can take." She says and walks off.
I walk in the kitchen with Elena to see Jeremy on the phone. "You gotta call me, Vic. I don't get it. What's going on with you? Just.. just call me please." He says and hangs up. "Hey. So, um, do you wanna hang out tonight? We could go to the, uh, Halloween thing at school. Could be fun." Elena says, grabbing waters from the fridge for her and I. "Cool. Sure. Sounds uh.. sounds fun. Can't wait." Jeremy says, pouring water from the pitcher that's in his right hand and is about to walk off. "I know you're upset about Vicki. I heard she called Matt. But you can't be with her. She needs to get better. The best thing you can do for her is let her go." I say. "What does that even mean, 'let her go'? Oh, okay, sure. Since we're such experts on letting people go, right?" He asks, looking at Elena and I. "I know you may not see it, but trust me Jer. It's for the best." Elena says and he walks over to us. "Look, for months after mom and dad died, I felt like crap, like 'nothing really even mattered' crap. Now all of a sudden, I get these moments and things started to feel just a little bit better, and Vicki was in every single one of them. So you two may not see it, but trust me. Keeping me away from her is not for the best." He says and walks off, and Elena and I both sigh.
I'm at the Halloween party at school dressed as angel without a halo; with giant fluffy wings and a white button up shirt, jeans and my black vans and run into Elena, and she grabs my right hand, and I set my orange soda down. "Hey, what's up?" I ask, concerned. "Vicki's at the party." She says. "Jeremy." I say and she nods.
It's about fifteen minutes after searching and we see Stefan walking out with Vicki. "Thank God." Elena says. "What's the matter?" Stefan asks. "I lost track of Jeremy. I was worried." She says. "What's going on?" Matt asks, walking over to us. "Hey. Uh, everything's fine." Stefan says. "I told you to quit bothering me." Vicki says to Stefan. "No. Vicki, don't do this." Elena says. "Yeah, you lying ass bitch." I say and cross my arms at her, and Vicki looks at Matt. "Matt, he won't leave me alone." She says. "She's lying." I say and Matt looks at Stefan. "You need to back off, man." Matt says, stepping in front of Stefan. "Matt, it's-- it's okay." Elena says. "No, it's not okay." Matt says and comes face to face with Stefan. "What the hell is your problem?" He asks and Vicki vanishes. "Stefan, she's gone!" I exclaim and run off with Elena.
Elena and I are walking around, looking for Jeremy and Vicki, and hear Jeremy scream, and run outside. We grab wooden four by fours on the way to him that are in the trashcan and see her about to bite him. "Vicki, no!" Elena shouts and Vicki throws Jeremy on the ground, and growls at us, as we all run to each other and try to hit Vicki with the wood but she breaks it, and throws us to wall; me crashing into Elena who landed on wooden platforms. We stand up and see Stefan holding her back against a school bus. "Vicki!" Jeremy shouts and Vicki pushes Stefan off her and Vicki vanishes. "Go. Get inside." Stefan says and we start running, and I grab Jeremy's right hand along the way, and right before we get inside, Vicki throws Jeremy to the ground, throws me at a school bus, and sinks her teeth into Elena's neck as I pass out.
I slowly wake up with a splitting headache and blink a few times and realise I'm in my house and someone's carrying me, and I slowly look up to see it's Damon. "Hey, short stuff. How you feeling?" He asks, grinning at me and I roll my eyes, and he lays me in my bed. "I have a splitting headache. Will you get me some ice?" I ask and feel him tuck me in. "Sure." He says and I feel him kiss my forehead, and I slowly fall asleep.
Damon's POV:
After I finish up compelling Jeremy's mind, I walk into the living room to see an unconcious Adam on the couch from the attack from Vicki, and put one hand under his legs and another on his back, and carry him to his room. On the way to his room, I see him slowly wake up and blink a few times, and look up at me. "Hey, short stuff. How you feeling?" I ask, grinning and see him roll his eyes, and I lay him in his bed. "I have a splitting headache. Will you get me some ice?" He asks as I tuck him in. "Sure." I say and kiss his forehead, and he slowly falls asleep. After I make sure he's completely asleep, I turn walk to the door and turn the light off. "Goodnight, Dimitri." I say and shut the door behind me.
