4:16: Emotionless

I'm in Damon's bedroom as Stefan called a meeting while Elena is taking a shower and Kol is making breakfast as we're talking about Elena going back to school. "So that's the plan? You're gonna take her back to school?" Damon asks. "Well, the fun route didn't exactly pay off, did it?" Stefan asks. "What fun route?" I ask, confused and they both look at me. "Damon took Elena out last night; out of town." Stefan says. "At least we got a free meal out of it." Damon says, grinning. "You let her feed from someone?" I ask, crossing my arms at him. "Yes, but don't worry. I didn't let her kill the girl. Snatch, eat, erase 101." He says and I roll my eyes at him. "Look, do you think I want to go to school and play Chaperone? You can't go because you're not a student. Besides, you've got to go look for Katherine. I mean, Elena needs this Cure now more than ever." Stefan says. "Not that anyone asked me, but I think taking her back to school is a great idea." Caroline says as she walks in, wearing a pink bathrobe. "Why are you here?" Damon asks as we all look at her. "Uh, blame it on your fancy water filters. Your house has the only vervain-free showers in town." She says. "Oh, yeah. The mayor put vervain in the water supply." Damon says and clicks his tongue. "So many people to kill." He says and Caroline takes a step forward. "Yeah, my Mom says it's about to get worse, so she could use a little help." She says. "Fine, I'll go after the psychotic doppelgänger with Smartass and his OVBF. That stands for Original Vampire Boyfriend." Damon says and looks at Stefan. "Stefan, you wanna go talk to the Sheriff?" He asks and Stefan nods. "Blondie, take her to school." Damon says. "Sounds like fun." Elena says and we turn around to look at her as she's completely naked and everyone stares for a moment. "What? It's nothing you guys haven't seen before." Elena says and covers her body with a towel. "And as for the, uh, 'going to school' idea.. I've got nothing better to do." She says, smiling and Stefan clears his throat, motioning for Damon to talk to Elena with his head and Damon steps forward. "Elena, it would make me very happy if you went to school today. And studied hard.. you know, get involved in whatever activies, and please, for me, no matter what, don't eat anyone. Ok?" He asks and Elena nods.

Damon, Kol and I arrive to Klaus' family mansion and Damon knocks on his office door and Klaus answers it as Damon smiles and we walk in. "Ah, what an unpleasant surprise. And I see Kol is behaving now, aren't you mate?" Klaus asks and Kol fake smile at him. "One bloody hell of a happy camper." Kol says, sarcastically as Damon pulls out a list. "Nice to see you, luv." Klaus says and shuts the door behind us. "So I just came up with a list. It's called, 'Things You Suck At'." Damon says and we all look at Klaus. "Number one: Finding Katherine. Ever. Number two: covering up your secret phone conversations with that little backstabber Hayley." Damon says and I grab the transcripts. "What are you and my sister up to?" I ask as Kol reads them over my shoulder. "She knows Katherine." I say. "Exactly." Damon says and I look up at him. "Yeah, so, where is she? What does she know about Katherine?" Damon asks and we look at Klaus. "I should help you?" He asks, pointing to himself and then at Damon, who nods. "Mhm." He says. "After you lot killed my brother and imprisoned me in the Gilbert living room?" Klaus asks. "There's one little thread in that statement. Kol came back." Damon says, patting his shoulder and Kol glares at him and Damon steps closer to Klaus after taking his hand off Kol's shoulder. "You might want to prioritize, Klaus. You have much bigger problems." Damon says and Klaus stares at him. "Katherine has the Cure." Damon says and Klaus doesn't look happy and Damon turns around, walking. "My guess is she's gonna want to cram it down your throat." He says and looks back at Klaus. "You help me find Katherine, I'll get the Cure, I'll give it to Elena, everybody wins. Just let me question Hayley about Katherine." He says and Klaus smiles, walking over to us. "Can't help you, mate. Hayley's off limits." He says, walking past Damon and sits on his sofa. "Although, I did have a run in with a vampire who may know where Katerina is." He says and we turn around to look at him. "Too bad for you, I bit halfway through his bloody neck. He probably won't have much time for chit-chat." He says, grinning and I roll my eyes.

We're at the Truck Stop where Hayley met Klaus earlier according to the phone records as I'm eating a bag of Sour Patch Kids and Kol has a giant pickle. "What do you mean, she fed? I specifically told her, No Feeding. The Sire Bond should make her listen." Damon says before taking a red Sour Patch Kid. "That's impossible. All I wanted was to break that damn bond. You're telling me now this whole time all she had to do was turn it off? What happens if she turns it back on? I'm at a truck stop in the boonies looking for a dead vampire that might lead to Katherine and the Cure." Damon says and we hear an engine revving and start to walk around, looking. "Look, just grab her and get her home. We'll be there when we can. Smartass and his OVBF." Damon says and hangs up and we see Rebekah. "You. I thought you were still vacationing on Numbskull Island, sister." Kol says as we walk over to her. "Well, I was looking for answers, and all I found was your Professor Shane, dead, and with him, anything anyone knows about the Cure." She says. "Guess you won't turn into a real girl after all." Damon says and starts to walk off. "Oh, I'll get the cure. I just need Katherine, and I'm betting you can help me find her." She says and Damon turns back around as I eat a blue Sour Patch Kid and Kol eats a green one. "Why would I would I help you?" He asks and she pulls out a vial of blood, walking over to us. "Because I was smart enough to bring a pinch of my brother's blood. How else would you interrogate a vampire who's practically dead from a wolf bite?" She asks. "Fine, follow me. I might know where to look." Damon says and we follow him.

We arrive to Grove Hills Trauma Center. "Why exactly would you think a sick vampire would check into a hospital?" Rebekah asks and Damon points up quickly. "See that little bright thing in the sky? It's called the sun. He needs to avoid that. Plus, the hospital's open 24/7. Not to mention he's hungry and delusional." Damon says and we sneak into a room as he smiles and Rebekah closes the door behind us as he checks the fridges where they keep the blood cool and they're completely empty. "Impressive. You're like Sherlock Holmes with brain damage." Kol says as Damon keeps checking, frustrated. "Stefan said the Mystic Falls Hospital had its entire blood bank raided, too." Damon says. "It looks like our vampire gets around." I say. "No. The guy's dying of a werewolf bite. He wouldn't have time to steal from both hospitals. This is someone else." Damon says. "Who?" Rebekah asks. "That's another problem. But on the plus side, if our guy did by chance come here, he's got nothing, which means he's nearby and he's hungry." Damon says, walking over to us and Rebekah steps in front of him, blocking him from reaching the door. "This better not be a wild goose chase." She says, crossing her arms at him. "I want to find Katherine as much as you do." Damon says. "Really? Why? I heard your little chat with Stefan. I know Elena's broken the Sire Bond. So why would you wanna find the cure? You'd just Cure her back to loving your brother. I think you're best off leaving it for me." Rebekah says and walks out of the room.

It's nighttime as Damon is feeding on a girl with Kol's arm wrapped around my waist. "Well, nobody could ever mistake you for subtle." Rebekah says and Damon looks at us. "You have to take pride in your work." Damon says and looks back to the girl. "It's ok. Come here. I want you to walk very slowly to your car. Off you go." Damon compels her and she walks away. "You know, I just don't see how this increases our odds any." Rebekah says. "Me, neither." Kol says. "I've been on the other side of a wolf bite. First you get really sick. Then you get really hungry." Damon says, wiping his mouth off. "Since the sun's gone down, I'm imagining he's gonna be looking for his last supper. I just laid out a 3-course, 115-pound meal for him." He says and see Damon dash away and the three of us start running to see Damon holding the vampire's heart in his hand as the man drops to the ground. "What the bloody hell are you doing?!" Rebekah exclaims and Damon tosses the heart. "Too far gone. I put him out of his misery." He says, turning around to look at us and walks past us as we look at the dead vampire.

We're at the house party Elena decided to throw and find Damon drinking from a bottle of bourbon. "Will you please just take a hint and leave me alone? All of you?" He asks as he's been trying to avoid us since the vampire encounter. "What are you hiding? I know you knew that vampire." Rebekah says. "He drinks straight from the bottle after a friend dies." I whisper to her and we walk over to Damon as he turns to look at us. "I know a lot of dead people." He says. "You killed him to prevent me from finding Katherine to keep me from getting the Cure." Rebekah says. "Do you really want the Cure? I mean really?" Damon asks and leads us around the party. "See these girls? They look happy, now. In five years, they're gonna settle for a mediocre starter-husband and a mind-numbing career, and about that time, they're gonna realize something you're never gonna have to learn." He says. "And what would that be?" She asks. "Life sucks when you're ordinary. And what makes you exactly not like them? You're a vampire. You take that Cure, become human, well, you're no one, nothing. Trust me. Losing this Cure is the best damn thing that ever happened to you." Damon says and walks off to let Rebekah think about what he said.
