I arrive to the Salvatore Boarding House after Damon called me this morning. "Well, good morning, Sleeping Einstein." He says and I put my right hand up to him. "It's too early in the morning for your sarcasm. Unless there's coffee." I say and see him hand me a mug. "Thank God." I say and use my hand to grab it and sip it. "Mm. Caramel." I say. "Come on." He says and starts walking up the stairs. "Where are we going?" I ask and take another sip, and set it down on the table, following him up stairs. We make it to Stefan's room and see a shirtless; probably naked him and Elena in lingerie, and Damon sits on the edge of the bed, and I sit on his right side. "Rise and shine, sleepyheads." He says, grinning and Elena and Stefan sit up, covering themselves up. "Damon! Adam! Please!" Elena exclaims. "What are you doing?" Stefan asks. "Oh, stop being smutty." Damon says, smirking. "He dragged me up here." I say. "Seriously, get out of here, Damon!" Stefan exclaims. "You too, Adam." Elena says. "If I see something I haven't seen before, I'll throw a dollar at it." Damon says, grinning at Elena and them me, and her and I both blink. "Now listen, we have some very important business to discuss." Damon says. "And it has to be right now?" Elena asks. "At seven in the morning?" I ask. "Well, we have lots to do, now that we're all friends and working toward a common goal." Damon says and stands up. "So, in order to open the tomb, we need to find the journal to get the grimoire to undo the spells. First things first. Since you are Adam Gilbert and dangerously smart, you're on journal duty." Damon says, pointing at me with his right index finger. "Since when am I helping?" I ask. "Well, Stefan's helping, and you've taken up residence in Stefan's bed, ergo. Well, you know what I mean." He says and Stefan looks at me. "You don't have to do anything you don't want to do." He says and I wave my left hand, and grab Elena's pillow, and get onto the floor, resting my head on it. "I'll look for it today." I say and close my eyes. "Good." Damon says. "How do we know that this journal will hold the location of the grimoire? We're really going to take the word of this vampire? He seemed like a bit of a dimwit." Stefan says. "In lieu of any other options." Damon says. "Ok, what exactly is a grimoire, anyway?" Elena asks. "It's a witch's cookbook." Damon says. "Yep." I say. "Every spell that a witch casts is unique unto itself, so every witch would document their work." Stefan says. "Yeah. Cookbook." I say. "What about our mystery vampire? Dimwit obviously wasn't working alone, so whoever's out there knows who we are." Stefan says. "And I don't like that disadvantage, so.." Damon says and claps his hands together. "Chop, chop. You know, I really like this whole menage a foursome team thing. It's got a bit of a kink to it." He says and chuckles. "Don't screw it up." He says and I hear him walk out the door, and I follow him down the steps, into the kitchen. "You want me to make some of my famous pancakes?" He asks. "Does it look like I eat?" I ask, sarcastically. "You were about to make out with those donuts." He says, grinning. "Has anyone ever died from eating them?" I ask. "No." He says and I sigh. "Fine." I say and grab my coffee with my right hand from the table, and he starts making pancakes that look like a vampire smiley face. "Hillarious. Fucking hillarious." I say.

I'm at the house as I'm looking through old family stuff with Stefan. "You know.. I really think that Damon believes that everything he's done, every move that he's made, he's done for love. It's twisted, but kind of sad. I mean, he lost the only person he's ever cared about more than anyone else. He lost Dimitri." I say. "There are other ways to get what you want. You don't have to kill people. Damon has no regard for human life. He enjoys inflicting pain on others. For one  years, every single time that I have let my guard down and let Damon back into my life, he's done something to make me regret that. I'm not going to make that mistake again." He says. "So what do you think will happen if the tomb gets opened and Damon gets Katherine back?" I ask. "I think that no matter what Damon promises, a lot of people will die." He says and I sigh, picking up a photo with my right hand and Stefan comes to stand behind me. "That's Johnathan Gilbert." He says and I look at a wooden box. "What's this?" I ask and open it to see a muzzle and gasp. "What are you guys doing?" Jeremy asks walking in and I close the box. "Hi. Just going through some stuff, feeling sentimental. Dad had this old family journal from years ago. I thought I'd dig it up." I say and he sits on the counter. "Johnathan Gilbert's journal?" He asks. "Yeah, what do you know about it?" I ask. "I just did a history report on it." He says. "Oh. So where is it now?" I ask. "I gave it to Mr. Saltzman. He wanted to see it." He says and Stefan and I look at each other.
