3:18: White Oak Mission

I'm walking up the stairs to my Dad's apartment with a coffee carrier that has two coffees and a bag of muffins in my right hand, and knock on Dad's door with my left, and it opens, and I see Damon. "Morning, sunshine." He says, smiling at me. "Hi. How's my Dad?" I ask, stepping forward to enter the apartment but Damon blocks my path. "Indecent, but fine." He says. "So then, does that mean there were no issues last night?" I ask. "Nope. Slept like a baby, woke up Alaric. No headlines about dead Council members." He says. "Then why do I feel like you're hiding something from me?" I ask. "Well, maybe because you're being all paranoid and control freaky. What'd you bring me?" He asks, taking the bags of muffins with both hands and smells them. "Ooo, chocolate muffins. You know what they say-- the way to a psycho killer's heart is through his stomach. Especially when it's Papa Psycho." He says and I roll my eyes, taking the bag with my right hand. "They're not for you." He says. "Fine. Keep convincing yourself you're still mad at me. But sadly, Ric's gonna have to miss father and son bonding time today. You know lockdown and all. And you two did bond yesterday with Mr. Knife and Dr. Fell." He says and I shake my head. "Just take it and give it to him and tell him that I miss him, ok?" I ask and hand him the bag of muffins as he takes them with his right hand. "With pleasure." He says, smiling. "Please." I say as he's shutting the door. "Have a great day." He says. "Dam--" I say and he interrupts me by shutting the door. "Thanks for coming by." He says and I turn around, and walk off.

I meet up with Caroline, Elena and Matt in the woods. "Hey. What's with the cryptic secret meeting text?" Matt asks. "I don't know. Stefan just said to meet here." Elena says and Damon and Stefan arrive. "Where's Bonnie? I texted her, too." Stefan says. "Um, Bonnie's mom bailed on her. Again. So, I think we should leave her out of this one." Caroline says. "What are we doing here?" Matt asks. "We found some more white oak. Long story, wait for the movie." Damon says. "Hang on. White oak? You have a weapon that can kill Klaus?" I ask. "Nope. We all have a weapon." Stefan says, smiling and I notice he's holding a duffle bag in both hands, and throws it on the ground, revealing a bunch of white oak stakes.

"Klaus has always been one step ahead of us, but now we have the advantage. We're all armed and they are all linked, meaning we only need to kill one of them. We need to seize the best opportunity, which means we need to prepare for every opportunity." Stefan says. "Scenario number one--" Damon says, waving his right index finger in the air and walks over to Elena. "You get to play Klaus." He says, moving her to Stefan. "Ok." She says. "Rebekah is our target so we distract her and catch her off guard. To do that we need to keep Klaus separate and occupied." Stefan says and we all look at Caroline. "Caroline." He says. "Why do I always have to be Klaus bait?" She asks. "Because he's obsessed with you." Damon says and walks over to her. "But for right now we need you to play Rebekah." He says, moving her into position and we all look at Matt. "We use the quarterback to distract her. Just keep her talking." He says. "How?" Matt asks. "Act interested. She's lonely, desperate." Damon says. "Clearly. She slept with you." Caroline says, smiling at him. "Hm. Beefcake holds bombshell. I come up from behind her." He says and gets behind her, grabs her arms and put them behind her back. "Grab her arms like this." Damon says. "Ow!" She exclaims and Stefan steps forward with a stake in his right hand, imitating stabbing her. "Gives me time for one shot." He says and Caroline pushes Damon back. "Got it? Good. So we all have one stake, we keep it hidden and we look out for any opportunity we have." Stefan says. "No last minute attacks of pity for any of them." Damon says and looks at Elena and I. "Don't worry about me. Not after what happened to Bonnie's mom." Elena says. "Kol saved me." I say and cross my arms at Damon. "Come on, smartass. We need you to distract Kol." He says and I sigh. "Fine." I say. "Barbie?" Damon asks, looking at Caroline. "Oh, I'm ready. Anything that will free Tyler from his sire bond to Klaus." She says and Damon looks at Matt. "Busboy?" Damon asks. "Do I have a choice?" He asks. "Good point." Damon says. "We have twelve stakes, twelve shots at killing one Original. We can do this. Alright, let's try another scenario. Elena grab a crossbow." Stefan says, handing Elena a crossbow. "Matt, you play Klaus." He says.

I'm walking over to Stefan as he's outside the Grill after learning about Rebekah attacked my Dad and she has Damon. "Hi. How is he?" I ask as he's looking at his phone in his right hand. "Hey. He's just banged up. Caroline's gonna stay with him and make sure Alaric stays Alaric. Matt texted me and said Finn is still in the Grill. We need to plan our next move." He says. "Kol isn't in town and he didn't tell me where he was. Wait, wait, Rebekah has Damon. Our next move should be finding him." I say as we stop walking and he steps in front of me. "No, we need to stay on point. See an Original, kill an Original. That's the plan." He says. "Yeah, that was the plan you made us join before Damon's life was hanging in the balance." I say. "Look, Adam, I understand that you're concerned about my brother's life, but if he even knew, for one second, that we were talking about missing a chance to kill these people he would lose his mind." He says. "Yeah, and if the roles were reversed he would stop everything to save you." I say. "I know what my brother would want." He says. "What he would want and what we should do are two different things." I say. "You gonna help me with this or not?" He asks and I cross my arms at him. "Ok, I'll figure it out myself." He says and walks off past me.

I'm in the Salvatore Boarding House Library with Caroline, Elena and Stefan after hearing Bonnie did the spell and Sage just died out of nowhere. "So, Sage and this Troy guy die within an hour of Finn." Caroline says. "But why? Were they bitten by a hybrid or..?" I ask. "Hybrid bites don't look like that. Maybe Sage was so in love with Finn she just died of sadness." Caroline says. "No, that doesn't explain Troy." Elena says. "It's the blood. The bloodline." Stefan says and we all look at him. "Think about it. Finn turned Sage, Sage turned Troy. They're all part of the same vampire bloodline that originated with Finn." He says. "Wait, so when an Original dies every vampire turned from their bloodline dies along with them? Because that would mean.." Caroline says. "If the Originals die, so do all of you. The entire vampire species would.. it'd just be dead. Well, I'm sure you guys aren't mad at me for saving Klaus at Homecoming now, are you?" I ask and cross my arms at them. "You knew?" Stefan asks. "Not technically. But don't you think it would be too easy to kill an Original?" I ask.
