4:7: Dangerous Lines

I'm with Kol, Jeremy and Matt as we're unloading drinks for Miss Mystic Falls that's tomorrow. "So, your sister is making me be her date. Elena, not Hayley. Think I'll have to do that weird dance thing?" Matt asks. "I'm pretty sure that's just for the contestants." I say, getting one of the smaller boxes. "I heard that you're April's escort. How'd that happen?" Kol asks Jeremy, lifting two of the bigger boxes before winking at me. "Show off." I say and peck his lips after he sets the boxes down, and he wraps his hands around my waist. "Well, she needed a date and apparently Matt was taken." Jeremy says and Matt chuckles, trying to lift a keg but it's too heavy for him, even with both hands. "I got it, mate." Kol says, stepping forward but Jeremy stops him. "You want to see something cool?" Jeremy asks, stepping onto the back of Matt's new pickup truck from Rebekah and lifts both kegs with one hand each and hops down, setting them down with ease. "What the hell was that?" I ask, confused. "How did you just do that?" Matt asks, confused as well and Jeremy smiles. "Ever since I was awoken as a Hunter, I've had all this energy, like all the time." Jeremy says and Matt crosses his arms. "Jer, I think you need to talk to someone about this. I mean, look what happened to Connor, okay. A byproduct of this energy is that you're gonna want to kill vampires and you happen to live with one and your brother is dating one." He says. "Hey, I would never hurt my sister." Jeremy says, smiling. "What about Kol?" I ask, crossing my arms as well. "Him, too. I'll be fine." Jeremy says before pushing the cart of drinks to where the setup is for the pageant.

I'm at the pageant with Kol as he's dressed in an original black suit with a white button and black tie as I'm wearing my maroon one with a black tie and my black jacket as he has bourbon in a champagne glass and I have coke in mine. "You always look great in a suit, darling." He says, kissing the top of my hand and I give a small laugh, blushing a little. "You don't look too bad yourself, Mr. Mikaelson." I say, laughing and he playfully growls at me before pecking my neck and I see Damon and Shane talking with each other. "Hey, what are those two talking about?" I ask as he follows my gaze to the two of them and sticks his right ear out a little. "Damon is talking about how he knows that Shane called April's father ten times the night of the farm explosion. And now he's accusing Shane of convincing Pastor Young to kill the Council. Shane is being very defensive about it." He says. "Which means he did." I say and sip on my drink and we hear Mayor Lockwood up on stage. "Welcome to this season's Miss Mystic Falls." She says and we all clap except for Shane and Damon as Shane sips on his drink, walking off. "We are so excited to showcase our most outstanding community leaders in the making." She says and we all clap again.

Kol and I are walking around and run into Tyler and Hayley; she and I instantly hugging each other. "Hi." She says before we release. "Hi." I say and see notices the tiara on top of a pillow that is sitting on a table, walking over to it, takes it and places it on her head. "just want to thank the judges for seeing past the fact that I'm a raging bitch." She says, smiling and I laugh. "You don't wanna do that. Those girls will cut you. They have nails." Tyler says. "I have claws." She says before putting the crown down. "I've been meaning to ask you." I say and Hayley looks at me. "If you're a werewolf, how come I'm not one?" I ask, confused and she looks a little confused herself. "What are you talking about? Have you.. killed someone before?" She asks. "I shot a witch once after she helped a group of vampires kidnap Stefan. The Tomb Vampires." I say, giving a small nod. "I don't know why, then. The werewolf gene doesn't skip generations and the only way to activate it is any death at your hand. Boating accident." She says. "I'm sorry." I say, giving a small nod and she wipes off a little mascara off her cheeks. "Thank you." She says and we see Caroline at the bottom of the stone staircase where the pageant girls are at. "Hi, everyone, I'm Caroline Forbes. As the reigning Miss Mystic Falls, it is my honor to introduce this year's Miss Mystic Court!" She exclaims, holding cards in her hand and we all cheer for the girls. "We begin the procession with Valerie Fell accompanied by Dylan Clark." She says and we all clap again as Valerie walks down the steps, holding her purple dress by the skirt with her finger and thumb and we all cheer for her. "Next, we have Amber Wolvertine accompanied by Hector Lindsay." Caroline says and we continue clapping for the other girls until we see April step up in a red dress. "And finally, we have a last minute entry, April Young accompanied by Jeremy Gilbert." She says and we clap for April and look around for Jeremy, but don't see him anywhere and see Matt walk up. "Thank God. I thought that poor girl would have been left all alone." Hayley says. "She kinda is. It was Professor Atticus Shane that blew up the Young Farm." I whisper to her and Tyler as Kol rests a hand on my lower back. "The creepy guy who knows all this supernatural stuff that Damon mentioned? Why?" Tyler asks and I shake my head. "I have no idea." I say and we see them start dancing like they did when Elena and Damon danced; seeing Elena and Damon make eye contact with each other before she walks away from him and Caroline goes over to talk to them, and I follow them with the others. "Hey, where the hell is Jeremy? He was supposed to be April's escort." I say and we all look at Damon as he starts talking. "Do the math. Emo teen. Open bar. It's fine. Oh, look. More siblings and your cousins if you believe all werewolves are related." Damon says and Hayley and Tyler roll their eyes at him. "Matt said that Jeremy's been having nightmares about killing vampires and he's been hiding it from me and Adam." Elena says and we all looked shocked, but Damon shrugs it off. "Relax. I'm sure he's fine." Damon says. "I don't know. I have a bad feeling." Elena says, shaking her head. "It became a natural instinct for Connor to kill vampires. What if that's happening to Jeremy as we speak?" I ask and everyone looks at me. "Yep. Definitely a no no. Look, if I'm not worried, you shouldn't be worried. Let it go. I'll go look for him." Damon says and Caroline nods. "Ok." Elena says and Damon walks off. "Okay, you guys go home, I'm gonna start asking around here." Caroline says to Elena and I. "Maybe Damon's right. Maybe he grabbed a bottle from the bar and snuck off to the woods." Elena says. "I don't think so, darling." Kol says. "We're just gonna go away from this teen drama." Hayley says, walking off with Tyler. "No, Damon is never right. Damon is sneaky and manipulative and rude, but he's never right. How can you not see that?" Caroline asks and Elena fake smiles at her and Kol and I look at each other. "I don't know, but why do I think that you won't hesitate to tell me?" She asks. "Fine, friend-tervention. I think your so-called 'feelings' for Damon are really starting to cloud your judgment and I don't like it." Caroline says, raising her voice a little and we see Klaus walk over. "We're just gonna go, too." I say, intertwining my fingers with his and lead him away for the three of them to continue talking and see Elena walk off after looking back at them.

I walk over to Damon as Kol is using the bathroom to see Shane and Hayley talking with each other, and she smiles at him. "How do those two know each other?" Damon asks after standing up from his chair. "They don't. Not that I know of." I say. "The Council just got burnt to a crisp. Some mysterious Hunter just blew through town and this guy just happens to know everything about everything." He says. "I told her that it was Shane that called Pastor Young that day. Why would she be talking to someone who started a chain reaction?" I ask, confused. "I have no idea." Damon says.

We see Mayor Lockwood smiling as she's up on stage. "And now, the moment you've been waiting for. Caroline, would you do the honors?" She asks, smiling at her and Caroline steps forward, smiling. "This year's Miss Mystic Falls is.." She says, opening up the envelope. "April Young." She says and we all cheer for April, who is smiling in shock and steps forward as Caroline puts the tiara and sash on her while Mayor Lockwood hands her the scholarship and Kol notices Elena follows Jeremy in the distance and decides to follow her, and I follow him.

We arrive just in time to see Jeremy being pushed to the ground by Elena and I run over to him and so does she. "Jeremy, Jer! Please wake up!" I exclaim, trying to wake him up but he was faking it and I feel a wooden puncture in my neck, making me gasp. "No!" I hear the three of them shout and Jeremy tackles Elena as I fall onto my back before Kol feeds me his blood and after catching me from hitting the back of my head on the floor and pulling the mini wooden stake out of my neck while I groan and scream, and I sit up, coughing a little and Matt rushes in. "Jeremy." He says. "Get out of here, Matt!" Jeremy exclaims. "Jeremy, you don't want to do this, okay. That's your sister! It's that stupid mark on your arm." Matt says, taking a step forward. "Shut up, Matt!" Jeremy yells as Kol slowly helps me up, taking his jacket off to put over me as I'm freezing from blood loss but will be fine in a few hours and Matt raises his voice. "Jeremy, look at me! I'm human and I'm telling you not to hurt her!" He exclaims and points at me. "Your brother is human, too and you accidentally hurt him!" He shouts and Jeremy looks back at Elena, hesitating and Stefan rushes in, shoving Jeremy against the fireplace. "Get out of here, Matt!" Stefan yells, tossing Jeremy to Matt and they leave quickly as Stefan helps Elena up. "Are you okay?" He asks, looking at me with concern and I give a small nod. "Yeah, I'm okay." I say and Kol pulls me closer to him.

It's later at night as I'm in my room before moving in with Elena and Kol to the Salvatore Boarding House and see Jeremy walk into my room, sitting next to me on my bed. "Hi." I say, smiling softly at him and he pulls me into a tight-ish hug. "I am so so sorry about today. You know I would never hurt you, or Elena, on purpose. It's this Hunter's Mark." He says and I give a small nod. "Don't worry, I forgive you." I say and hug him a little tightly as well.
