We're at the memorial for Carol Lockwood after she died the night before while we were gone, lighting candles in her memory as I'm sitting in between Kol and Tyler. "Carol Lockwood always said that togetherness in times of tragedy leads to healing, that one community is stronger than a thousand of its members. But how does a community stay strong after losing its leader? And Carol was so much more than a leader. She was an open-minded friend and a concerned mother, taken from us too soon by a terrible accident." Sheriff Forbes says. "Screw this." Tyler says as Caroline, Kol and I look at him as she was on Tyler's other side. "Tyler." Caroline says as he stands up and runs out of the gym. "Please join me in observing a minute silence in her memory." Sheriff Forbes says and we all now our heads in silence. "Thank you so much. In the wake of this tragedy, the town has selected an interim mayor. Many of you may already know him. Please welcome Mr. Rudy Hopkins." She says and we clap for him. "Who's he?" Kol asks as we see Bonnie's Dad step forward, shaking hands with Sheriff Forbes. "That's Bennie's Dad." I say. "Thank you so much, Sheriff. Carol Lockwood put this town first. That's why I'm here to talk to you guys. You folks are the future of Mystic Falls." Rudy says.

I'm walking around with Caroline as she's holding the White Oak Stake after Stefan told her that someone released her from her slumber. "Kol was right behind me, I have no idea where he went." I say, sighing. "And he's not answering my texts." I say as she's texting Stefan and he feel a breeze, quickly turning around. "What the hall was that?" She asks. "Rebekah. Probably." I say and see Rebekah dash behind her and snap her neck. "Caroline!" I exclaim, before Rebekah dashes off with me and we see Stefan as we're on the first floor; her with a gentle, but firm grip on my wrist. "Hello, Stefan." She says as Stefan puts his phone away after texting Caroline. "I'm here. What do you want? Let him go." He says, walking over to us and we walk over to him. "The same thing I wanted when you helped Niklaus dagger me." She says. "The Cure." I say and she lets my hand go, dashing Stefan to the lockers, slamming him against them with her hands around his throat and he flips their positions, choking her with one hand. "I hope you're not waiting for Caroline to show up and stake me.." She says, pulling the White Oak Stake from her backpocket. "Because I already found her." She says, grinning and Stefan lets go of her throat.

We soon into the Library as Rebekah has a tight grip on his arm and the same grip from earlier on my wrist and Elena stands up as I see her, Caroline and April sitting down. "Did I say you could move?" Rebekah asks and Elena sits back down as Rebekah lets us go. "Class is in session. You've all been compelled. Except Adam and April. You know the rules. Answer my questions honestly, no disobedience, no one leaves." She says as I sit between Elena and Stefan and Rebekah walks around. "April, my sweet, take notes. This is how you get answers in this town." She says to her and April gets a pen and her notebook. "Let's start with a little quiz. In the year 1114, my brother learnt, thanks to yours truly, about a brotherhood of vampire hunters with tattoos that grew with each kill. These tattoos revealed what? Elena?" Rebekah asks. "A map." Elena says. "Which led to? Caroline?" Rebekah asks. "A Cure for Vampirism." Caroline says. "Perfect, so we're all caught up." Rebekah says and looks at Stefan. "Stefan Salvatore, the last time we saw each other, you had a vampire hunter, but in order to decode the map, you needed the location of the Hunter's Sword, which you got out of me using some very dirty tricks. Assuming you found the sword, you also found the Cure, and yet, you're all still vampires, which means something went wrong." She says and looks at April who is taking notes. "What are you doing?" Rebekah asks. "You asked me take notes." April says. "I wasn't being literal, darling. But now that you mention it.. a flow chart would be nice, which means index cards and push-pins. Go, fetch. Adam, go with her." Rebekah says and I follow her to my Dad's classroom to get some supplies and feel Kol dash me off back to the Library after we finally find some supplies in the locked drawer that I pick locked, and see he also dashed Shane along with us. "Sister.." He says and looks at the others as they all turn to look at him. "Look at this. You're worse than Klaus." He says, grinning and Rebekah smiles back. "Kol. Finally. Did you bring what I asked for?" She asks and Kol pushes in Shane and we follow him inside as Rebekah smiles at him. "You must be Shane." She says.

I follow Kol and Rebekah to the Janitor's closet where Kol shoves Shane against the metal shelves and Shane points between the two of them. "Kol and Rebekah Mikaelson.. two members of the Original Vampire family. This is such a trip." He says and Rebekah steps forward, trying to compel him. "Where's the Cure?" She asks. "Compulsion won't work. It's a little trick I picked up in Tibet." Shane says, grinning after glancing at Kol and I. "Right. Well, we'll just have to do this the old-fashioned way." She says, looking at Kol and I, and back to Shane as Kol smiles. "Beat him until he tells you where to find it." Rebekah says, walking off and Kol steps in front of Shane, smiling more. "Just not too bad, Kol." I say and he winks at me. "Of course, darling." He says and cracks his knuckles.

Kol is torturing Shane by repeatedly engulfing him in water until he can't almost breathe and pulls him back out again. "Where is the Cure?!" Kol shouts and starts drowning him again. "Kol.. don't kill him." I say, touching his shoulder gently and he does the vampire face at me, clearly pissed off and I take my head away, taking a step back before his face goes to normal. "I'm sorry, darling. I'm sorry." He says and I give a small nod and he pulls Shane's head back out as Rebekah walks in. "Where is the Cure?" Kol asks, calmly and Shane looks at us before being submerged by water again and I give a small cough, it getting a little louder and Kol pulls Shane back. "You're human. Why do you want it anyway?" Rebekah asks. "That's the beauty of this. You can have it. I just want Silas." Shane says and Kol pulls him by the hem of his shirt to him. "What else do you know about Silas?" He asks. "He's the world's first immortal being, who just happens to be imprisoned with the cure.. and I want to free him." Shane says. "Fuck no!" Kol exclaims before shoving Shane's head back underwater and I start coughing viciously and Rebekah looks at me as Kol keeps holding Shane underwater and I start coughing up water as I fall to my knees. "Kol! Kol, stop it! They're linked somehow! Stop! You're killing Adam!" Rebekah shouts and Kol pulls Shane out of the water and he and I both gasp as Rebekah helps me up along with Kol, pulling me up to his chest. "Someone linked you and Shane. I'm gonna kill them." Kol says, taking off his jacket and putting it over me as I wipe my mouth off. "Shane is no use to us dead." Rebekah says as we all look at Shane and Kol looks at us. "Did you not just hear what he said? Silas will kill us all, sister." He says, pointing at Shane. "Silas does not exist. He is a.. a bloody fairy tale made up to scare children into eating their vegetables." Rebekah says as Kol walks over to us. "Silas is very real." Shane says and we look at him. "I know where he's buried, and soon I will have the spell that wakes him." He says. "Wait a second, you're lying. You can't get to him." Kol says, getting interrupted by Shane. "Without his tombstone? Dozens to die in a blood sacrifice? Believe me, I know. I've done it. Those massacres are a pain to engineer." He says, standing up. "Damon was right. You're the one who blew the Council up." I say. "It was a noble sacrifice.. and temporary, because once I raise Silas, Silas will raise the dead. He will bring back every last soul who died on his behalf." Shane says and stabs Shane in a fit of range with a metal pipe into the abdomen. "No!" Rebekah shouts as I fall in her arms, my abdomen starting to bleed and we see Shane die and I'm dying as Rebekah tries to feed me vampire blood but it isn't working and Kol dashes over to me. "Darling, darling. I'm.. I'm so sorry, I was just so angry.. please, please don't go." Kol says, cupping my face gently with both hands as I'm shivering and he's crying. "Kol.. I... I love you." I say and feel him press his soft lips against mine before I close my eyes gently, dead. I wake up gasping a few seconds later and Kol embraces me in a hug as well as Rebekah. "Thank God you're okay. I'm so, sorry darling. So sorry." He whispers repeatedly in my ear as my wound heals but I'm not in transition, cuddling up to his chest gently before he lifts me up in his arms and I gently wrap my arms around his neck, feeling him carry me out of the Janitor's closet.
