Tweek's POV
"Good evening everybody and welcome to Lorde's gymnasium. We're here for tonights league game against the Crosspoint Warriors and your South Park Cows! Please rise and remove your hats for the pledge of allegiance or whatever. No one cares what you do". Butters and I stand up to be respecfull but don't say the pledge with everyone else. After that's done the anouncer starts to read off the starting lineup for both girl teams. They're playing first since our school is so small and only has one gym. The boys will start their game after they're done. Butters invited me to watch the girls game with him and Kenny. I was only planning on going to the boys game but I caved in to spend more time with Butters. Kenny finally showed up at the tipoff accompinied by Craig. Now is the perfect time to get my apology out of the way so I won't feel guilty anymore.
"Hey, s-sorry for the other day at the coffee shop. I'm still g-getting used to being my own p-person you know"? The nerves are coming and I start pulling on my hair. "I just don't like people feeling sorry for me and all the attention that comes with it. Y-you understand right"? Craig breaks into a little smile and nods reaching for my hands to take them off my hair. "Sure Tweekers, this is strange for me too. Just know I'm here if you ever want to talk, ok". That made me feel ten times better, not that I really plan on talking to Craig about anything too personal but it's nice that he's still there for me. As a good friend.
Our team wasn't doing very well. It could be that most of our athletic girls were on the cheer team instead of playing basketball but what do I know. My coffee is running low and I need to get more. I asked Butters if he wanted anything from the concession stand but Kenny interrupts with; "something sweet for my Buttercup"! This causes Butters to blush like crazy. "K-ken, don't say stuff like that". I just laugh all the way down the stairs until I unexpectedly run into Kyle on my way to the concession stand. He just smirks at me and says; "remember our deal". Kyle then winks at me before he goes back to the away side of the bleachers. "How could I forget" quietly leaves my mouth.
*Flashback a few days ago at the coffee shop*
Kyle finally returned to his table and slowly starts to enjoy his drink I made him. Every now and then I would catch him staring at me and I would stare back, but he would never turn away. I would always get nervous and turn my gaze somewhere else. This went on for a good fifteen minutes before his group was getting ready to leave the shop. As Ike and Firkle were heading towards the exit Kyle came straight up to the counter where I was currently trying out some new drink combinations. He proudly says; "sorry about earlier, I have a hard time talking to cute guys. I guess you took my breath away". He continues to stare with the smallest smile on his face. I'm thinking there's no way he's talking about me and I squeak out a "W-what do you mean" and this just makes Kyle laugh. He catches me off guard as he reaches for my hand to grab and looks at me to say. "Let me spell it out for you, I like you Tweek. Would you want to catch a movie sometime, my treat". I'm speechless, this is all happening way too fast. He went from barely saying anything to me and now he's acting more smooth than Kenny fricken McCormick! "Y-you're kidding right? No way someone as hot as you likes me". Crap! Did I really just admit that I think he's hot? His smile just grows bigger and he smugly says; "since you think I'm so hot can I get your number"? My face heats up on the spot. "What! No way!" I keep looking around hoping to see someone else in the shop to save me from this guy but no luck. I'm pretty sure he's catching on that I'm starting to feel uncomfortable and says; "ok, how about if I make five three point shots anytime during my school's next basketball game which is at your high school by the way, you'll give me your number". I shrug and reply; "yeah right, all the guys on our team are super tall. There's no way you'll win". Kyle smirks and says; "so, do we have a deal"? Is he really that confident? How good could he possibly be at basketball? He wasn't even that tall compared to the guys on our team. Wait, how did he know that I went to South Park high school? I quickly ask him before I eventually agreed to the deal and he mysteriously says; "I have my sources" and leaves me dumbfounded.
*Flashback over*
I bought my coffee and some Skittles for Butters. By the time I made it back to the bleachers handing the candy to Butters it was halftime. Both of the girls team had gone out to the locker rooms, leaving the senior class on the court getting ready for their fundraiser. They were trying to raise money for their end of the year senior trip. One of them announced "one dollar gets you one shot from anywhere on the three point line. If your shot goes in you get to pick one liter of pop". A few kids came to the court first. They got to shoot from the free throw line. The crowd erupted whenever one of their shots went in. Then a few boys from the other school went out there to show off their shooting skills. Only a couple of them made their shots in and got to pick up one of the pops. The last one to attempt his shots was Kyle?! He gave five dollars to the senior holding the basketballs before looking back at me in my seat.
The first shot was made off the backboard right in the center. His next shot was made all the way to the left side with nothing but net. He then moved back to the center to make his third shot with another swish. Staying where he was he made the shot hitting the backboard before going in for his fourth basket. Lastly he moved a few steps to his right as the crowd was waiting to see if he would make all five baskets. He made the shot no problem. All of his classmates were whooping it up and clapping nonstop. Kyle had the biggest smile on his face and I couldn't help but smile myself.
"Wow I guess he really is good at basketball" quietly escaped from my mouth. Kenny and Craig just look at me and their facial expressions scream 'no, really?' I guess they're just nervous because they'll be playing against him within the hour. Both Kenny and Craig leave to go get ready for the boys game but not without Kenny stealing a kiss from Butters first. We both wish them good luck with Butters face as red as a tomato. "Let's hope their game is more exciting than the girls" leaves my mouth before we return to watch the second half of the girls game.
