No ones POV
It was deja vu all over again, Kyle's mom leading Tweek to the gymnasium, this time however was for pictures. Almost every major event in the beginning of their relationship was coming full circle. Tweek would smile at all of the small memories that kept creeping into his mind. Every place Kyle had taken him was special in a small way.
The more Tweek took in his following surroundings, the more out of place he felt. Sure he had been here before but on totally different circumstances. It was unbelievable how well the gym was decorated, He had no idea that almost everyone would be dressed in clothes up to Kyle's fancy standards. Tweek felt his suit was too simple to live up any expectations of these great clothes he kept seeing repeatedly.
*******
Kyle and Tweek had only appeared on the dance floor for slow songs. Tweek almost lost it when 'One Call Away' by Charlie Puth was played. Recently Kyle would come to his mind whenever he heard this song play on the radio at his families café. Tweek thought Kyle got the memo when their formal slow dance formation (Tweek's left hand resting on Kyle's shoulder with his other hand holding on to Kyle's. Kyle had his right hand on Tweek's waist and his left hand holding on to Tweek's.) quickly changed to Tweek smashing his body as close to Kyle's as possible and having a death grip on his torso. Kyle embraced the sudden gesture by resting his head directly on Tweek's. It proved to be more difficult than he thought, Tweek isn't considered short when he's with Kyle. Kyle was happy to have this special moment with Tweek and wouldn't dream about prying him off anytime soon. That job would go to his mother, who was still on the clock for being a chaperone, (a nosy one at that). She rushed over frantically yelling "too close" which lead to Tweek pulling away with a bright red face uttering an uncomfortable "s-sorry". Kyle mouthed 'sorry' with a pained expression on his face while shrugging his shoulders. The song was almost over so no harm, no foul. A dance song blared through the speakers. Tweek sprung into action.
When a fast song would play over the loud speakers Tweek would try his best to scurry over to the snack table or try to engage in small talk with Kyle's mom. This time however didn't go as planned like the other attempts. The other kids in the gymnasium were relentless and begged Tweek to dance with them. Still mister popular for the night. Tweek looked to Kyle to be his saving grace but no such luck. Kyle had a playful tone telling Tweek that he won't embarrass himself too bad. Kyle was still being a sourpuss about everyone treating Tweek like royalty on his stomping grounds. Well Tweek was going to wipe that cocky look off his face in no time. The next song was a popular crowd favorite, the Cha-Cha Slide. Tweek was going to purposely avoid all of these songs to not draw any extra attention that he had all ready been receiving. Kyle had to be taught not to underestimate Tweek. This was the perfect opportunity to once again surprise Kyle, all thanks to Butters Stotch.
Tweek gave in and let the fellow students escort him to the middle of the dance floor. Tweek was anticipating every move that would be called and hit them right on beat with the music. He even knew how to do the 'Charlie Brown' where most of the crowd looked around clueless, not fully sure how the move was done. Tweek looked incredible dancing the proper steps to all of the songs; the Macarena, Cotton Eye Joe, the Cupid Shuffle, the Cha-Cha Slide (obviously), Soldier Boy, and Jump On It. Kyle could only look at Tweek with astonishment. His mom was shocked as well. Constantly praising Kyle for finding someone who has killer moves. Her words, not mine. Sheila also made a lighthearted comment about Tweek having to come to Ike's Bar Mitzva to show off his fancy footwork. After an upbeat country song was done Tweek was persistent about reaching the snack table to parch his thirst that he'd acquired during the past few songs. Kyle left his mother to help Tweek conquer his dry throat. Who was still panting and looked completely wore out. (From the dancing!)
"C- *huff huff* C-cotton Eye J-Joe *huff huff* gets m-me every *huff* time. That ones a d-doozy." After a minute of Tweek catching his breath and muttering about how he couldn't have pulled off all of this dancing without all of the coffee he had mercilessly drank throughout today. He was anticipating what Kyle would say. Every once in a while during the songs he would catch Kyle conversing with his mom, no doubt about his knowledge of all the songs. Kyle didn't react until he handed Tweek more cups of water. Once his hands were free he slowly started to continounsly clap his hands together, giving Tweek a knowing smile. This reaction was very confusing to Tweek, which that last thing he had expected. He sputtered out a "what now?"
"Just applauding the show you put on. You know, you dance pretty well for someone who has heavily implied that you have no athletic abilities but you just happen to know every single move to all of these group party dance type of songs. Care to explain?"
"Umm, Butters k-kind of does, well he u-used to do this l-line dance class through community education in S-South Park. He would drag m-me along to make his c-class look bigger." Kyle raised his eyebrow, still not understanding why Tweek would go in the first place. Tweek sighed and continued with his explanation. "The more people th-that showed up, th-the more he was paid. I'm no where near B-Butters level of dance skills. I would look like a c-complete klutz dancing alongside h-him. It's a lot less pressure to dance in front of s-strangers than it is t-to be in front of people who've known m-me my whole life. No w-way would I have the c-confidence to do this at any of m-my school functions so consider yourself l-lucky m-mister."
"I do consider myself very lucky, thank you very much. Even when you're all sweaty and panty, you're still the cutest thing on earth. Also remind me to thank Butters the next time I come into town, he's done a great service without a doubt.
Little did he know that the one person who he should be thanking the most would be none other than Kenny McCormick.
I just said this in my last chapter but thanks again to everyone who votes and leaves comments. Three hundred votes is amazing!
Also the video above has a mixture of all of the songs I mentioned. I myself teach a line dance class and this song is the warm up I use for the class. Did you guys know all of the song references and dances?
