Tweek's POV

By the time I showered and got dressed the weather was a pleasant seventy degrees with a nice overcast. That's one of my biggest fears is getting a gnarly sunburn. Even with the overcast displayed Kyle was still persistent on applying a ton of sunscreen on his fair skin. Scratch that, his mom was the persistent one about the whole thing. She even guilted me into putting some on as well. Then she made us wait in the house for fifteen minutes before we stepped outside. At this point Kyle was beyond annoyed. The second the front door was closed he had his hands flailing around all over the place. The actions looked like he was trying to put a hex on the house but it was most likely towards Sheila alone. Was it a bit dramatic; yes, but it was a funny sight to see regardless.

"Come o-on. It's nice that's she's s-so concerned about our w-well being. Some p-people aren't as lucky in the p-parent department." I had him there, but that didn't stop him from grumbling about 'overbearing mothers' and 'almost being an adult'. "What do y-you mean almost a-an adult? You just t-turned seventeen last month!"

"It's the principle of the matter. I do a pretty good job taking care of myself during most of the school year while maintaining my high marks and doing a sport each season." He motioned for me to step away from the door. Maybe he was afraid Sheila or Gerald would pop out in a crazy fashion. I wrapped my arm around his waist and he placed his arm around my shoulder. The walk to town wasn't going to be that difficult and I was rather excited to get there. This automatically put him in a calmer mood. "They have such high expectations for me and a little bit of respect or acknowledgement would be greatly appreciated every now and then. It's like they don't even know how much extra pressure it is to live up to their high standards."

"They can't be that b-bad. I wouldn't be h-here with you w-without their blessing r-right?"

"Pshh, that was a no brainer. Every adult likes you and my parents are no exception. They know a good kid when they see one. It's like they have a certain radar that picks up on that kind of stuff. So far you and David have been the only kids from South Park that my mom approves of and that's saying a lot considering how picky she is when it comes to who I should or shouldn't hang out with. Consider yourself lucky kid."

"L-luck had nothing to do w-with it... Hey! I'm only a c-couple months younger than you m-mister. Everyone else just n-needs to get on my level." A small chuckled erupted from his throat.

"When you're right, you're right. On the other hand, I would rather not have anyone on your level. Nobody is worthy enough." With that being said I gave Kyle's waist a tight squeeze with the help of my other hand, hinting my clear embarrassment.

"Sh-shut up, I'm not th-that special."

"Tweek, we've been over this." Kyle stopped in his tracks. I all ready knew what he was going to say. It's the same thing every time I bring up my- "Please look up at me."

"....." I couldn't bring myself to lock eyes with Kyle. He would always call me out for every occasion of me having low self esteem. It's been occurring more often since school got out. Craig was being relentless on stating that Kyle settled for me and that he was too much of a big shot for me. At first I didn't take his words to heart but they had a way of lingering in the back of my head. "I was j-just joking around. You d-don't have to keep reminding me that I'm s-special."

"Joke or not I'll keep saying it until the statement sticks. Obviously I feel like I need to keep reminding you. It makes me sad to see you go from 'get on my level' to 'not that special' within seconds."

"You're right, I'm s-sorry. It's just....." I didn't want to dwell on this. Today was supposed to be a fun outing to the carnival not some stupid breakdown where my insecurities come to light. *inhales deeply* "nottheeasiesttohaveallthisconfidencethatyouhaveallthetime. Iseemsosmallcomparedtoabigshotlikeyouok."Deepest apologies if this was difficult to read. I attempted to move forward with Kyle, hoping he would drop the subject.
