Kyle's POV

A week had passed from our big trip and I knew that football practice was just around the corner. There had only been one thought on my mind about school and I was nervous about my parents reaction to the proposed idea. I had put together a list of pros and cons about changing schools for my senior year of high school. I made sure to hype up major points that would cater to the family part of my moms brain because at the end of the day it's mom who has the final say about anything. Ike ended up finding about my plans but didn't appear to hate the idea. In his words if I was here at the house more that would help get mom off of his back more. Which brings us to now, the whole family sitting down at the dinning room table enjoying dinner. I had only ate a tiny bit of food and was mostly pushing the food around with my fork. Ike kept raising his eyebrows and tilting his heads towards each end of the table while they weren't looking. I inhaled deeply which caught both of their attentions right away. "What's on your mind Bubbie?" I always cringe when I get called that but I held back my groan and eye roll this time. More important things were at stake. This has nothing to do with Tweek. I just miss my family and want to spend as much time with them until I go off to college. Ok, you got me. Tweek was reason number one for going to South Park but to convince my mom (and dad) I had to go strong with the family angle.

"Mom, Dad. There is something really important I would like to discuss with the b-"

"Kyle this sounds serious. Wouldn't you like to discuss this privately without your younger brother present?" Ike took that as a hint to leave but I motioned for him to stay when he made a slight movement. This would be easier if I wasn't outnumbered adults to kids.

"No Ma it's fine. Ike can be here, this kind of involves him anyways." Mom looked shocked and couldn't seem to grasp what could be so serious and included her youngest at the same time. "I've been thinking about this for months and I would like be able to plea my case about staying here for my senior year of high school." I glanced up at their faces and my dads face was just looking at my mother. Trying to read what she was thinking. She just motioned her hands indicating for me to carry on and continue.

"As you know, this time next year I'll be preparing to attend university that could possibly be out of state for at least four years and most likely more years of other schooling. You guys barely saw me when I was attending Cross Point. If I went to school with Ike you guys would see me everyday and won't have to travel at least an hour to go to all of my home games."

"That all sounds wonderful Kyle but I'm worried about your schooling. South Park doesn't offer the higher educated classes like Cross Point does. I don't want you to take two steps back with your intelligence."

"Oh that's easy, I'll do running start for the first part of the day. You know what that is right?" Everyone shook their heads, Ike included. "It's a program that is held at South Park community college that lets high school students take college level classes. The credits will go towards my high school credits and also qualify as college credits. I can take my math and science classes there and the rest at South Park. The only other credits I need to graduate is history and language arts. The other classes will be electives and even a free period to catch up on all my work." I was proud of myself for getting through that whole spiel without any flaws. I surprised myself by throwing in the part about a free period to have more time for homework. Even with all of that my mom looked skeptical. I had gone through all of my main points and didn't know what else I could say to convince them otherwise.

"I don't know Bubbie, this is something your father and I ha-" Ike rose from his seat rapidly, causing the dinning room table to shift.

"Come on guys, don't you think you've exiled Kyle from this town long enough? It was a silly accident when he was like what, five. Every day after that he's managed to get perfect grades, letter in all of his sports, and tutor kids to earn extra money. That sounds pretty responsible to me. Wouldn't you agree?" Our mother looked at Ike, surprised that he would have the courage to cut her off while she was talking. Ike noticed this which resulted in him quietly sitting down. "What I meant to say is that it'd be nice to have someone to drive me to school everyday."

"Ike, do you really see your brother as this smart, responsible athlete?" I met Ike's eyes to see him nod his head up and down. Mom looked very pleased with his answer and dad finally let out a breath he had been holding for a while now. "That's all I ever wanted, Kyle to set a good example for you. Looks like he's done a fine job. I don't see any reason why Kyle can't go to South Park next year unless you have something against it Gerald." Now all eyes were on dad, which he didn't like one bit. He was quick to respond with 'of course not', shaking his head. "Well it's been decided, we'll have both of our boys going to South Park next year. Kyle, I'll take you to the school tomorrow to enroll you and talk to the football coach about you joining the team."

"Thank you, thank you, thank you! You guys won't regret this." I sprung out of my seat to hug my dad then rushed over to mom to kiss her cheek. I decided to see how far I can push my luck. "Can I drive over to David's to tell him the good news? I don't want to wait until tomorrow, I'm too excited." Ike rolled his eyes and this time left the table to push his dirty dishes in the sink.

"That's fine Kyle, it's getting pretty late though so if you leave can you ask David's parents if it's ok that you spend the night so you don't have to drive back home in the dark." I happily agreed to the terms. Running upstairs to pack a small overnight bag and send both Tweek and David a text. I'm sure David won't mind me stopping by Tweek's house first to tell him the good news.
