Tweek's POV
If you thought I went straight to school after my sudden burst of confidence, you would be incorrect. What, I still need my coffee to help me stay alert for today. If I hadn't have had that stuff I would have missed the first smart comment Craig threw my way when I took my first step on to the school's property. "Traitor Joe" I wasn't going to pay any attention to Craig and his childish taunting. I was finding more difficult than I anticipated."You were so desperate to have a 'real' relationship that you went after the first guy who gave you an ounce of attention. I still find it hard to believe that Kyle would like you in the first place. Why won't Kyle admit that he only found you interesting because his biggest competitor 'dated' you first?" Is he being serious right now? Butters knew Craig hit a nerve and was desperately trying to continuously drag me into the school, away from Craig. Butters was muttering "oh jeez" again and again. Something inside me snapped and I couldn't let Craig portray Kyle this way any longer. I jolted away from Butters to confront Craig.
"I don't know what type of fantasy world you're living in but Kyle and every single person at his school isn't threatened by you at all. Is there a certain part of your brain that has blocked out the memories of their team defeating you guys every chance they get? I was there for all of Kyle's three point shots, steals, amazing hits and flawless infield game." Craig had no idea I had it in me to take shots at his lack of skills when it came to sports. I was waiting for any word Craig would be brave enough to follow mine with. He stood there silent. I had to get this off my chest to make sure my point was coming across before I lost my momentum. "You visualize yourself as Kim Possible, the girl who can do anything when deep down inside you're Dr. Drakken. The guy who can never beat his teen arch nemesis no matter how hard he tries. The same guy who is always calling Kim out for 'thinking she's all that but she's not.' Well guess what Craig? Kyle really is all that, and you're not." With that I grabbed Butters and walked inside the school building. I could hear someone fast walking behind me. Butters was looking behind us and from his facial expression of confusion I had no idea who it could be. If Butters had a look of fear I would have been more concerned. Butters cautiously tapped my shoulder and pointed behind us. I quickly glanced behind me to see Kyle's best friend. "David?"
"Oh no! You're not here to give Tweek a hard time are you? If that's the case I will have to politely ask you to scram." Poor Butters thinking he was putting his bad guy persona to good use. He was trying to put as much distance between David and I by stepping in front of me to block out David. Little did he know David was the last person he had to worry about. Of course like everything everyone does around David, he found this whole situation hilarious. David was pointing at Butters using his thumb with a look on his face that proudly displayed 'get a load of this guy'.
"Is he being serious right now?" Butters looked hurt by that statement. He most definitely feels the same way I did when David was poking fun at me before Kyle's game at his school. Being unaware of an inside joke. "Weak Tweek, you haven't told him yet? If you could be so kind as to call of your dogs and explain everything to the poor boy." Man, David is making me look so shady right now. Yet another important piece of information Butters knows nothing about. I patted Butters on the shoulders and gently guided him away from David.
"Hold your fire Butters. First of all, David is Kyle's best friend. Second, Kyle has kept him in the loop when we first met during winter break. Third, I didn't find out about David knowing anything until Valentines day." Butters was looking at me with disbelief. It's amazing how David has kept his and Kyle's close friendship under wraps from everyone. David could tell that Butters wasn't quite sure about the whole thing. He stepped in to back up my story.
"Yeah, Kyle is my boy. We've been best buds ever since I moved here in the fourth grade. He was definitely a lot nicer to me than anyone here in South Park." I'm sure he was referring to Kenny's old group of friends. Mostly Cartman who isn't nice to anybody. "Kyle would ask me to keep an eye on Tweek to make sure his well being is good. Which was easy until Craig caught me giving Tweek a valentine on Kyle's behalf. Craig was super touchy about the idea that someone else could give Tweek any type of romantic interest. That was Craig's first hint. Surprisingly he didn't tell anyone about our confrontation. Obviously at the time he had no idea it was Kyle. I'm still not sure how Craig put two and two together though." Butters was holding on to every word David was spitting out. Once Craig was brought up Butters was completely silent. The wheels in his head were turning. He had a guilty look on his face. It looked like Butters was having a difficult time to not rub his knuckles together. He kept bringing them together just to put them back down again.
"Oh biscuits. I think Kenny might have given Craig the final piece of information that he needed to figure out Kyle was the one who liked you (Tweek). When Kenny saw you and Kyle at the coffee shop during spring break he texted Craig about it before he came over to my house. Kenny caught Kyle without even realizing it." As if he heard his own name Kenny just so happened to be strolling through making his way inside the school. Butters told me that he was dealing with Kenny. It looked like Butters was going out of his way to avoid any type of eye contact towards his boyfriend though. Kenny walked right up to Butters calling his name a few times waiting for him to acknowledge his presence. Butters slowly moved his gaze to Kenny giving him the stink eye while quickly linking his arms with mine. Who knew Butters was capable of acting this way. It was a little scary. Kenny gave up trying to talk to Butters, he wasn't getting anywhere. He trudged past us even though we were all going to be in the same classroom within the next few minutes. Butters sitting at a table with Kenny and myself at a table with Craig and his group of friends.
Deep down I had a strange feeling that Butters didn't have the best luck changing Kenny's opinion of Kyle. He might have been covering for Kenny to spare my feelings.
Totally not related to this book at all but I was so happy after watching Shameless last week. As you can probably tell by my writing I don't swear at all. Spoilers about to spill. When I saw Ian get reunited with Mickey I was slapping my body and squealing. I was on the verge of swearing, I couldn't believe what was happening. I was yelling 'what' 'no way' and no one was in the house to see or hear any of this. I felt like I was crazy haha
Back to the story, the next chapter will be focused around Butters and Kenny. More cringe and drama soon to come.
