*The following morning*
Kyle knew that Butters was waiting for me outside the coffee shop so right when he parked his car he left his car to idle while he hopped out to get the passenger door open for me. I kept up the act that I found this annoying but after a couple months of Kyle repeating the same actions, (no matter how many times I told him he didn't have to,) I now look forward to the small act. Once my feet touched the sidewalk Kyle caught my lips with his. He pulled away shortly after and I put on a pouty face. He mocked me by returning the same face back at me. "I would love to stay and help out but I have to meet my mom at the school." I had a hard time believing that he would willingly help me with being in close proximity to something he hates; coffee. "As far as she knows I spent the night at David's and I honestly don't know how I'm going to justify myself being more happier than normal to her." I giggled from his paranoid thoughts about his mom, she's the only person on this earth who seems to rattle his cage. Apparently this wasn't a laughing matter to him. "Seriously, she's going to know something is up! You're laughing now, but that'll change the second she finds out about 'us'." I rolled my eyes while playfully shoving him back towards his car to assure him everything would work out and that he was being paranoid.
"We'll just make sure nobody finds out. It won't be that hard, honestly Kyle, being scared of your mom was cute at first but now I'm really starting to question this 'tough guy' act that you portray so well." He entered his car but not without pecking my lips for the last time this morning and telling me that he loves me. "I love you too you big goof. Good luck with your mom, I'll text you later." I walked away to acknowledge Butters with a wave. He was happy to see me and returned the same hand movement. Everything would be fine if nobody found out. I felt like I was on top of the world. That was until I noticed Butters studying me like I was some type of science experiment when I was unlocking the front doors.
"Are you ok buddy? It looks like you've been riding a bike that had a fla- OH HAMBURGERS, YOU LOST YOUR VIRGINITY DIDN'T YOU?!" Well there goes nobody finding out. We had not even fully entered the coffee shop and Butters had called me out for having sex. In one sentence he had made me eat my words and embarrassed me. Here I was thinking Kyle was out of earshot but I swore I could hear him cackling as he was driving away. I pushed Butters inside in an assertive manner.
"SHUSH, keep your voice down. I'm sure the whole town overheard your crazy accusations." After I re-locked the doors I walked to the back room to turn on the dishwasher and fill it with hot water. By the time I made it behind the counter to start brewing the coffee Butters was waiting for me; guns blazing to pry more answers out of me.
"Sorry but..." a sneaky smile was approaching on his face. "you're not denying it though..." Man, he can be so smug sometimes. It's easy to forget with how chipper he normally comes off as.
"GAH, fine! How did you know? It was Kyle dropping me off, wasn't it?" I had to drop the act, Butters wasn't going to let this go and might as well get all of this out of his system before the day progresses.
"That was a hint but it was mostly the way I saw you walking." I didn't understand and I was waiting on him to elaborate on that statement. He gave me a look like 'really?' "You're just walking like you're in pain that's all. It wasn't too difficult to put two and two together when you don't do any sports or anything." Butters was snickering at me and I continued with all of the tasks that had to be performed before the shop could be ready to open. Before I knew it, that time had arrived and I hadn't said a single thing back to Butters. Unless you count me grumbling at him whenever he gave me a cheeky smile. Butters must have read my annoyed body language and didn't seem to mind both of us completing all of the actions in silence. When the shop got into it's steady flow we took on our roles. Butters taking orders and delivering the coffee. Myself making said orders and trying my best to not spill anything, anywhere.
A couple hours later the shop had slowed down and the morning rush was long gone. I felt bad for giving Butters the 'silent treatment' for so long and I decided to change the atmosphere. I had been nervous to tell Butters the news about Kyle going to South Park high next year. Out of all of the kids at the school, he might possibly be the only one won't throw a hissy fit over Kyle's arrival for the school year.
"Hey, Butters?" He was busy bussing tables a few feet away from the counter and replied with a quiet 'hmm', indicating for me to go on. "You s-sure that Kenny is c-cool with Kyle now?" This got his full attention. My stuttering must have been a dead giveaway. He walked up to the counters and started to wipe them down so he was closer to me.
"Yeah, absolutely. We've been over this, Kenny realized that Kyle isn't that bad and is willing to give him a chance. Why do you ask all of a sudden?" I don't know why but even after hearing Butters say all of that I was still nervous to confide in my best friend. He had been on my side about everything since day one (except me having nice clothes but that was all for Kyle's prom) and there was still a thought that this could be the straw that broke the camels back. To go from nervous to more nervous wasn't making the situation easier. Here goes nothing.
"Well......." *gulp* "K-Kyle will be going to school part time with us next y-year. He just told me l-last night actually. I wanted you t-to hear it from me first. Kyle's mom is r-registering him today and he'll b-be practicing with the football team in no t-time." I looked up to meet Butters eyes and he was looking at me stunned. Then he lightly smacked my arm with the rag he had been using to wipe down all of the surfaces.
"We've been here for hours and you're just telling me this now?! Why did you wait so long to tell me?! Wait, did he tell you before or after you guys" He looked around, obviously learning his lesson from before and mouthed 'have sex'. He's taking the news well and my nerves were slowly disappearing.
"My best friend put me in a grumpy mood so excuse me for not jumping at the opportunity to tell you. And not that I think it matters but we did 'that' after he told me." Now Buttes looked dumbfounded.
"Wow, he switched schools his senior year to spend more time with you. If that's not super romantic than I don't know what is." I was surprised he saw Kyle's actions that way but I was mostly happy that he didn't bring me losing my virginity again.
"C'mon Butters, Kyle told me that he was looking forward to spending more time with his family. I'm not the only reason why he wanted to downgrade schools." Butters scoffed at this which caught me off guard.
"Whatever you say Tweek. I personally think you're delusional to not realize that you are the main factor for Kyle switching schools. Think about it, if he really wanted to spend more time with his family he would have asked years ago to attend the high school where his family lives. He had many opportunities to persuade his mom before you guys had met." I had my mouth open, ready to argue back but Butters cut me off before I had the chance. "You know I'm right, and you acting all humble about Kyle making this big grand gesture is quite annoying." Now it was my turn to smile sneakily. I knew he was right but if I would have said that out loud myself I would have come off as being conceited. Figures nothing would go past Butters, he would always call everything how he sees it and not sugarcoat anything. The rest of the summer leading up to the beginning of the school year will be interesting without a doubt.
Next chapter will be Kyle's POV.
Not so random question but Kyle is going to be in my Bunny story and I was wondering if you guys think Tweek should be his main squeeze in that story as well. That story isn't a continuation from this story and Kyle would be getting together with Tweek on different terms. I'll be updating my Bunny story within the next couple days so let me know your opinion of the matter.
