When everyone showed up to eat later that night it was oddly quiet, like they either didn't know what to say or they were too afraid to talk about it. They all just took a few slices of the multiple pizzas probably Tony had ordered and sat down, eating.

"So... Tony." Nat broke the silence and Tony glanced up at her from his plate, "How are you and Pepper?" She asked and Steve choked on his food trying to hold back a small laugh of sorts- 'Oh my god Tony is going to bury me alive... 50 feet down.' he thought to himself, Tony shot him a glare and tilted his head.

"Something... funny? Cap?" He seemed a little hostile but played it off like it was just a basic question. Bruce glanced at the two and Natasha dropped her head, wondering if she had just started a fight on the first night they were here.

Clint could see how uncomfortable she was and under the table, he set his hand on her thigh, she jumped and slammed her knee into the table, all eyes were on her for a moment. "Got a chill- sorry." She spluttered and blushed, trying to eat faster as Tony's eyes went from burning holes in her head to Steves.

Steve swallowed his food, "Oh uh... no. Nothing." He managed to get out, now his goal was trying to not to make the situation any worse. Tony set his fork down, annoyed by the idea of Steve finding his relationship funny. Bruce tensed and started eating silently like Natasha.

"That smile you're trying to hide, you're not doing a very good job Rogers, so what is it? What is so funny about my relationship with Pepper?" Tony asked as he set his hands down carefully on the table, 'Negative... Stark likes me LESS now if that's even possible...' Steve thought to himself.

"Nothings funny I swear- just- I thought it was kind of rude- er- unmindful of Tash to ask that after what happened a few weeks ago..." Cap murmured being completely honest. He let his head fall a bit while Stark sat in shock by what Steve had just said. Natasha searched Steve's face for something, anything really.

"I mean... I know it's not exactly my place to talk about your relationship but uh... I'm sure things changed after-... uhm." Steve had to stop himself, realizing now he was the one being extremely rude.

Banner had stopped eating and was staring at Tony to see his reaction, Clint just kept his head low. He was beyond ready to split the two up if either of them wanted to start a fight, and by either, he really meant Tony. Everyone knew how he could be when it came to touchy subjects.

Tony cleared his throat a bit, "I... really don't want to talk about our relationship right now but uh..." Tony trailed off staring at Steve, he was so in shock by Cap's bluntness. Tony stood up, "I'm done for the night- I'll be in the lab working if anyone needs me." and with that he walked out, leaving his plate. He was unsure if he felt angry at Steve back there. 'Please don't need me...' Tony groaned in his head.

As soon as she was sure Tony had left Natasha snapped her head towards the problem in question, "Steven! What... was that?" She asked as the others studied him.

"I wasn't trying to upset him, I just was saying that Nat... We all knew what happened to him. What he did!... I highly doubt him and Peppers relationship was going to be lovely dinner table talk." Steve started strong but mumbled by the end of the sentence.

"Well you sure made it a fun dinner table chat-" Clint mused as Nat smacked his head with her left hand and sighed.

"This was probably one of the worst ideas Fury's had yet..." She muttered and the others slowly, partially, nodded in agreement.

Tony glanced at his phone as it rang loudly, it was right around eleven pm meaning he had been down here for at least two hours... He set down the arm of one of his suits. "Hellllo?" He answered nonchalantly, not even bothering to check the caller ID.
