The Aisle

The moment I saw Elira walking down the aisle it was as if she was the only one in the room. As her eyes greeted others, my eyes were only on her. She was walking gracefully towards me, to marry me. Every step she took, she was a step closer to being my wife, to be my queen.

She was a dream that I thought I'd lose the moment I woke up. There wasn't a day that past I thought she was just a person made up in my mind. That maybe she wasn't real and everything was just imaginary.

But, she is real.

I can't believe it, I still don't believe it.

Our eyes meet and all my worries slip away, all my doubts are forgotten.

She is marrying me.

How was this real?

The Vows

I take a deep breath as I look at Elira's eyes through the veil, her smile was bright and I couldn't believe I caused it, I was the reason.

"Elira," I hold her hands caressing her knuckles, "I can't believe this," I said and she giggled, "I've written you many poems, but at this moment, I'm at loss for words," I said and I heard the people watching us, laugh with me.

"That's why I made sure to write them down," I said and Tristan quickly gives me the paper where I wrote the words I wanted to say and I held it with my left hand, my right hand still holding her hand, "Before I read these words to you, this is probably be my last poem to you," she raised her eyebrow, "the next ones I'll be your husband by then," she smiled nodding.

I let go off her hands and hold the paper with both my hands, "Princess Elira," I read out loud and I look at her and she smiles, "I made you a promise during our engagement night, do you remember it?" I look at her and she nods.

"You said, you will try your best for me to love me you at my own pace," she said and I nodded.

"I believe, I've done just that, haven't I?" I asked and she giggled nodding. I go back to read the words on the paper, "You may think that that's the first promise that I made, but I have a confession, that wasn't the first promise I made," I said and she starts to tear up, Cassidy gives her a handkerchief.

"I've admitted that I have loved you way before I confessed," I read smiling at the words I wrote, I can't believe I was reading this out loud, "When we were young, I made a promise to myself that if I was given the chance to show you, my love, I wouldn't hold back. I'd show you in all the ways I know," I look up to her she was smiling widely I smiled back.

"I believe that's the promise I'm doing now. This marriage is just another way for me to show how much I love you and after this, I'll show you more ways. My promise, my vow, is to love to and show you every day, and I know it won't be easy, falling in love with you is the easiest part, but the choice to continue to love you from this moment and until our last moments, will be the greatest challenge I'd had to face. But, I'll do it, because Elira Princess of Euria, I have loved you all these years and I'm not going to stop now," I said and she grinned, "You are my past love, my present love, and my future love."

"How am I supposed to top that?" Elira said and everyone chuckles, "You have always been amazing with words, thank you," she said and I nodded, "But I guess it's my turn," she takes in a deep breath.
