**George’s POV**

I finally broke up with Kay. Well, actually it was mutual. She seems to think that I’m not really into her, which is the truth. I feel bad for leading her on after all these years but the heart wants what the heart wants.

I can’t help but feel like my break up was caused, in part, by Guinevere. The last few days she has been so down on herself. I don’t have the heart to tell her that Cedric has been seeing Cho ever since she left. I thought about cursing him a few times but Fred always got to it before me. It’s strange how protective we are over her. Guinevere is my best friend, we tell each other everything, but Fred, I know he is still in love with her. Every time she walks into a room I see his face light up. I know how he must feel seeing her with Cedric every day. I know it must hurt knowing that you had your chance and blew it only for another guy to benefit from your mistake. I really felt for my brother, although I knew he was going to be vindicated.

I heard Guinevere was asked to the ball by Anton, the lost, muscular puppy dog that follows her around. It was rather disappointing seeing as if I would have asked her sooner, we could have went as friends rather than going with two people we really have little interest in being around. I was going with Alicia, which I wanted to back out of. Lee had a big thing for her and I’m pretty sure she returned it. Leave it up to me to get in the way.

It is now the day of the ball and everybody is heading down to the Great Hall. I enter with Alicia and take my seat at a table. We order our food and begin to eat. I look around and I fail to see Guinevere anywhere. I notice Anton looking everywhere as well.

After dinner Dumbledore clears the tables and the dance floor appears. Everybody moves to the side as the champions make their way to the center. Cho is happily hanging on Cedric’s side. She looks pretty but I know she doesn’t even compare to Guinevere. I hope she shows up and knocks the breath out of everybody, which I know she will.

The waltz begins and I see the champions and their dates dance. Soon the crowd joins. A few perky songs pass when I hear a couple singing. The stage is filled with fog but the voice of the girl is mesmerizing, it sounds so familiar but I can’t place my finger on it. I listen harder.

‘I dropped you off

Just a little after midnight

Sat in my car

Till you turned off your porch light                                               MALE

I should have kissed you

I should have pushed you up against the wall

I should have kissed you

Just like I wasn’t scared at all

I turned off the car

Ran through the yard

Back to your front door

Before I could knock

You turned the lock

And met me on the front porch

And I kissed you

Goodnight

And now that I’ve kissed you

It’s a good night good night baby goodnight

You couldn’t see me

Watching through the window

Wondering what went wrong

Praying that you wouldn’t go

You should have kissed me                                                              GIRL
