“So what do you think?” Cedric asks leading me up the steps of a small, stone house.

“It’s beautiful!” I exclaim looking over at the snow powdered garden over to the frozen bird bath.  The house was nothing like the Weasley’s, not even the scenery, which was odd since they lived down the street.

“Your here!” Mrs. Diggory yells running out the door to embrace her son. “You look so much older every time I see you.” She half laughs, half cries. “You got a smudge.” She adds licking her finger and scrubbing Cedric's cheek.

“For goodness sake, the man’s seventeen!” Mr. Diggory says pushing his wife aside and clasping his hand on Cedric’s shoulder. “Good to see you, son.” He tells Cedric affectionately. “So, where’s this girl we have been hearing so much about.”

Cedric blushes as he grabs my hand. “This is Guinevere.” He tells them smiling from ear to ear.

“She’s so much more beautiful than what you said!” Mrs. Diggory exclaims suddenly noticing my presence. She pulls me into a tight hug. “Welcome to the family; I want grandchildren.”

“That’s my boy.” Mr. Diggory says patting Cedric on the back. “We always get the best pic in women.”

I laugh nervously as I walk into their sitting room. Grandchildren, I think to myself. I shrug it off as I take my seat next to Cedric. Mrs. Diggory runs to the kitchen to put on tea. “I think we can hold off on the grandchildren for a while—unless you want too.” Cedric winks at me as we both laugh it off. “Who said I wasn’t serious?” He says looking dead serious. “Cedric!” I whisper enthusiastically as I slap his arm. He grins at me. “Worth a try.”

“Let me show you to your room.” Mr. Diggory offers while the tea is being prepared. Cedric helps me up and they lead me to a hall and up a flight of stairs that would normally lead to an attic. But once we walk in, it looked nothing like an attic. The walls are painted a light blue while a large bed sits in the center. Lots of magical posters of Quidditch teams are hanging all over the walls. Mr. Diggory walks over to the bed and pulls out the trundle bed from below. “Guinevere, you can take Cedric’s bed and Cedric can take this one below. Now I will leave you two to unpack and settle in.” I can feel my face burn crimson as he walks away. Geez, I hope I don’t snore or do anything embarrassing in my sleep.

“You can have this half of the closet,” Cedric tells me as he motions to the area of the closet. I unpack my things and fall on top of the bed. Cedric lies down beside me. “I’m glad you came,” he tells me, face nearly touching mine. “Me too.” I choke out becoming extremely nervous.

“Tea’s ready!” Mrs. Diggory yells from below. Cedric sighs as he pulls me off the bed. “Let’s get the ‘acquainting’ over with.”

**Fred’s POV**

So Guinevere decided to really not come to Christmas with us. I’m surprised, but then again I guess to be surprised is to be foolish. I can’t deny that that she is strong willed. But of course I was hoping that she would magically forgive me and forget what I said.

For the past week the family has done nothing but glare at me. Well, not mum and dad, but luckily they are blissfully ignorant on the matter. Or so I thought. About a week into vacation dad sits on the couch by me. It is well after midnight, but I cannot sleep. “So” he says thoughtfully, “what’s going on between you and Guin? Now, don’t try and outsmart me. I can put two and two together.”

I roll my eyes. Here it comes. “What are you talking about,” I say innocently but the guilt on my face cannot be hidden.

“Well, about a month ago we get a letter from Minerva about an attack on Guin. We almost came down but she assured us that everything was fine. Now I wouldn’t suspect anything if it wasn’t for the fact that, well, she just didn’t want to come home for the holidays.
