**Fred’s POV**
“When I said I would deliver the babies I wasn’t serious.” I say calmly to Guin when actually, on the inside, I’m panicking.
“Go get your mum. I may need help delivering them.” Mrs. Diggory commands as she scrambles around the room looking for a wash cloth to wipe the beads of sweat dripping from Guin’s face. I take one last look at her contorting her face in pain before I apparate outside of the Burrow.
“Mum!” I yell running through the back door praying she’s home. “MUM!”
“Why are you yelling?” Vanessa screams from upstairs. Without thinking, I run up stairs to talk to Charlie.
“Guinevere’s in labor, we need mum to help deliver.” I say panting. Charlie’s eye’s bug as he throws the covers off of himself. I watch him jump up, the pain on his face is apparent.
“Where is she?” Charlie asks quickly, excitement etched across his face.
“At the Diggory’s. Where is mum?” I ask again, feeling so panicked that I don’t realize I’m screaming.
“Right here.” Mum says. “What’s wrong?” She quickly asks, eyes darting across the room. “Is anyone hurt?” I shake my head.
“Guin’s in labor! I need to get to her!” Charlie tells mum as Vanessa helps support him. I notice her eye him curiously.
“I’ve never known you to like kids, much less be excited about someone else having them.” Vanessa says aloud, drawing total attention. I can tell mum is biting her tongue, but of course we all are. After a few moments of very tense silence, Charlie sighs and tells Vanessa they need to have a talk later. He immediately apparates. Mum and I share a very tense glance before doing the same.
The first sight isn’t pretty. Horrid screams fill the room and blood soaked rags litter the floor. A faint cry can be heard somewhere off in the corner but the sight in front of me has me mesmerized. Charlie is huddled over Guin’s nude, blood stained body as she convulses uncontrollably.
“We have to hurry; she is losing too much blood.” Mr. Diggory yells as he pulls another baby from Guinevere’s stomach. That’s when I notice the bloody knife laying on the bedside table. My eyes slowly stretch to Guin’s stomach. It is cut wide open revealing her bloody insides.
“What are you doing to her?” I yell pushing everyone away from her as if to shield her from further harm.
“Get him out of here!” Charlie screams. I feel a sense of betrayal run down my body as dad shoves me from the room.
“Leave her alone!” I scream hysterically as I pound furiously on the door. Seconds later George slips through the door. My fist hits him square in the nose before I can stop it. I feel it break upon impact.
“Bloody hell! How many times are you going to break my nose over her?” George asks rather calmly. He touches my shoulder and leads me away from the room. “They are doing what they can. Nobody wants to hurt her. The babies are growing fast and she couldn’t deliver them normally without the risk of both her and the babies dying.”
“But what about St. Mungos?” I reply trying to keep the hysteria from my voice. I feel an overwhelming urge to shove George out of the way and run back to Guin. He must have read my mind because he grabs my arm.
“I wouldn’t lie to you. I love her just as much as you do, okay? And St. Mungo’s isn’t safe. It’s not safe for any of us.” He tells me. After soaking in everything I begin to feel foolish. “You still love her, huh?” He asks curiously. I can’t bring myself to admit it.
“Yea, me too.” He sighs.
We stand in silence until we hear the door slam open behind us. Both George and I whirl around, pointing our wands at Vanessa and Ginny.
“Blood hell! We could have killed you!” George yells at them.
“How come no one told me Guinevere was having her babies?” Ginny asks angrily.
“Why did you bring her?” I ask pointing at Vanessa a bit rudely.
“She insisted on following me.” Ginny replies rolling her eyes.
“Okay, this is nice and all but I want to see Charlie. I’m ready for us to go home. I can take care of him myself.” Vanessa interrupts walking up the stairs.
**Charlie’s POV**
“Let me see my babies.” Guinevere requests weakly. She is still convulsing lightly in my arms.
“They are putting you back together and then you can see them.” I say kissing her temple. I rub her hand soothingly.
“They are beautiful.” Mum coos. Guinevere smiles faintly. I’m grinning ear to ear until Vanessa walks in.
“They look just like--.” Dad begins, but Vanessa finishes for him. “—You. They all look like you.” She whispers, tears steam down her face. I watch nervously as she walks up Guinevere.
“Congratulations. You’ve got everything I’ve always wanted.” She tells Guin before walking from room. “I’ll be getting my things. Thanks for your hospitality.”
Guilt surges through me. I feel the need to apologize. I kiss Guinevere one last time before running after Vanessa. I’m halfway downstairs before I hear a heart wrenching scream.
“NO!” Mrs. Diggory screams.
“Not my daughter!” Mum yells. Before I can ever react, Fred and George are running past me. Seconds later I follow them. Both and George kneel by Guin, panicked. I see a small tear slide down her face. Her eyes stare unseeing into the distance. My heart burns.
“Her last words were ‘he chose her.’” Mr. Diggory whispers in my ear before walking from the room, slamming the door behind him.
