“I can’t believe you flew your dad’s car to Surrey and back!” I exclaim to Fred and George looking completely awed. It had been two days ago and we had just found the time to discuss it without fearing the wrath of Mrs. Weasley, not to mention she tried to keep us separated by having us to various household chores.
“Yea, it was nothing,” George stated obviously flattered by the attention I was giving him.
“I can’t believe you didn’t invite me,” I pouted as I stopped walking glaring up at the twins.
“Awe, Guin. Don’t be like that. There wasn’t enough room.” Fred said laughing as he and George grabbed both of my arms and tugged me into Flourish and Blotts. Gilderoy Lockhart was having a book signing and the place was completely packed.
“He reeks of phoniness.” I said more to myself than to anybody. He was posing for the camera and was looking completely ridiculous. He was so full of himself. To make matters worse, he grabbed the soot covered Harry Potter and posed with him.
“We know,” Fred and George said in unison, disgusted by Lockhart’s use of Potter for media attention. Fred elbowed me in the rib and pointed to Mrs. Weasley who was fixing her hair waiting for him to sign her books. “Mom really fancies him.” We all burst out in laughter.
“Famous Harry Potter can’t even go into a bookstore without making the front page.” Fred, George and I whipped around. Draco Malfoy was inches away from Harry’s Face.
“Leave him alone.” Ginny shot back at Draco.
“Awe, looks like you have got yourself a girlfriend, Potter,” Draco sneered down at Ginny. “Red hair, you must be a Weasley.”
“Now play nice, Draco.” A blonde man said stepping being Draco and placing his hand on the boys shoulder.
“What’s going on,” Mr. Weasley said walking up after his conversation with Hermione’s parents.
The blonde man ignored him. “Hand me down clothes, second hand books…” he began. I looked over at Fred and George whose fist were balled up and faces red. I grabbed both of them and lead them out of the bookstore. A few minutes later Mr. Weasley came out looking roughed up.
“Fighting in front of the children,” Mrs. Weasley bellowed smacking Mr. Weasley on the arm. “What were you thinking?”
The tension on the way to King Cross was nearly unbearable. We could feel Mrs. Weasley radiate heat. I had never seen her so angry. Mr. Weasley just sulked like a beaten down puppy. Finally after walking on the train Ginny gave us the details. Oh the drama. I wish I would have stayed to watch it but I doubt Fred and George would have just sat there and not have joined the action.
**Fred’s POV**
Before I knew it we were back on the train to Hogwarts. George, Guinevere, and I took our usual seats by Lee who immediately started discussing new pranks to torture Filch. I glanced over at Guinevere who was intently starring out the window. Her face was distorted in deep thought. Ever since the demise of her parents, she hadn’t been the same; I knew she was hurt although she would never admit it, probably not even to herself. She was more serious. I can’t say that I blame her but I did miss the old Guinevere.
I halfheartedly joined in the conversation with Lee. I didn’t want to rouse suspicion. Between worrying about Guinevere and trying to decipher that kiss made me really wish I was alone.
“Hey! Fred!” George yells. I snap back to reality. So much for not rousing suspicion.
“What?” I ask guiltily.
