A/N: Rest In Peace, X. I know not everyone likes him, and I've already gotten hate on snap and insta for grieving him, but back in November, when I was in the hospital, he was all I listened to, and that saved my life. He's done bad things, and I mean really bad things, and I know that. But people are three-dimensional, and I'm not saying I forget him, but I do love him, and I'm gonna miss him a hella lot.
PS the song above, I've probably listened to it a thousand times. If you don't like that sort of music that's cool, but yeah, just thought I'd share it because it hits home. 💜
Dan's POV
I've never been the best at hiding my emotions. Which is a little shitty, considering I also suck at being able to explain them.
I'd like to say my hostility toward Evan is warranted, but honestly, it isn't. He's a great guy, is one of Dodie's best friends, and is very similar to Phil and I. Maybe that's what it is, is how eerily alike we are. Or maybe I'm just trying to find excuses to explain my childish attitude.
(Y/n) keeps shooting me looks every time I show any sign of malevolence, but I pretend I'm not doing anything, like a child. However, Phil does the same thing with Dodie, so at least I'm not the only one who's going to be accused of acting unkind.
Dodie leads us to the lounge, where everyone is sitting, Evan setting up some sort of board game I've never seen before.
"So, you two are going on tour?" He asks Phil and I, still fumbling with the game pieces.
Phil and I shoot a look, but I'm not quite sure why. "Uh, Yeah, that's the plan," I reply monotonously, picking at my fingernails.
"That's super cool! When are you leaving?" Some guy I've never seen asks.
"Um, we actually have to leave Saturday morning," Phil intervenes before I can answer.
"But don't you have some tour dates that will still be in London, or around the area? Certainly then you're not going to have to leave, like, completely."
"Well, the way the tour is set up, we're actually starting on the opposite side of the continent, then working our way back to the United Kingdom," Phil explains.
"Oh. That's...unusual," He replies. I'm worried the room's gonna slip into awkward silence, but luckily, someone immediately dives into conversation with (Y/n), and the room's focus is put on her. She seems comfortable in the situation, which leaves me incredibly thankful that the tour is no longer the center of attention.

"That was really fun!" (Y/n) chimes as we walk down the street to the tube. It's already midnight, and even it being the beginning of summer, the chilly night air sends a shiver down my spine. (Y/n)'s teeth chatter as she raves about the night, and I wrap my arm around her. She looks at me gratefully.
"Yeah, I've been bragging about you every time I see them, and I think they love you more than I do," Dodie replies jokingly. (Y/n) grins bashfully in response.
The tube ride and rest of the walk home is mainly silent, Phil telling his usual stupid jokes and us kicking pebbles down the pavement until we reach the apartment complex. We jog up to our place, pulling off our jackets in the foyer. However, before I can walk to my room, Dodie blocks the way, her hands on her hips and a scowl painted on her face.
"Was there a reason you were acting like a couple of toddlers back there, or what?" She asks both Phil and I impatiently. Phil and I exchange looks, not quite sure how to explain it.
"Um, we really don't have an excuse," Phil says shamelessly, and I only nod in agreement.
Dodie just rolls her eyes. "Well, if you two keep acting like children, I'm not gonna stand for it." She spins on her heel and walks away, her short hair swishing behind her. I turn to (Y/n), who only shrugs her shoulders before following after Dodie.
