QING'S POV

Ahhh!!! What the heck..!! I might as well just have a look at this one agreement that had me intrigued. At least this would take my mind off Dayu, a little.

I reached for the envelop and opened it, taking out the agreement. I read everything, including the resumes of the people the owner wanted me to hire. And also the profit the café raked in, in three years. The cafe really did well.  In the first year, it had already gained popularity. And as the years went by, it seemed that the café became quiet famous among the people from that neighbourhood and the neighbouring residential areas as well. The profit it gained was as impressive as it's popularity.

I couldn't help but be impressed, with the brilliance of its owner. I wonder, why he only negotiated for his staffs to be hired in our hotel. He could have presented a work paper, to negotiate to have his café to be opened in our hotel. His cafe had already an established relationship with the a lot of costumers from around here; it would have been a win win situation for both party; the owner and my hotel. Yet, he chose not to do that. I wonder why. He had a good business sense, he should know that he stood to gain more if he did. So, why did he passed such a chance?

Then, I looked at the last page of the agreement. And that's when I saw the owner's signature; a signature that had been imprinted in my mind for the last three years. Dayu's signature. I had his contract which he signed when he became my 'assistant' five years ago. I read the contract countless of times these past three years, just to have a look at Dayu's signature. I needed to have at least something of him that I could hold onto apart from my memory of him. Because I didn't have anything else. He didn't leave any trace of himself in my life when he left. He took everything with him. I had nothing. I even had to steal the only picture I have of him.

The contract was the only thing I had that connected me to him. It was despicable; the contract. But, it was a proof that once, I had him in my life.

The second I saw the signature, I jumped on my feet; and I thought my heart would jump out of my mouth, when I saw the name beneath the signature.

Feng JianYu.

And the agreement ended with Dayu's stamp pad on it.

I gulped, wondering if this is real or if this is just another one of my countless dreams of  Dayu. And I pinched myself on the arm without holding back. I winced- it felt painful. But, I was smiling happily as I looked for his address.

Now, I know why the owner didn't want to negotiate opening his café in my hotel.

It's Dayu! The owner who had intrigued me and baffled my accountants and lawyers, was Dayu!! And now, I knew exactly where he lived!!!!

Dayu had been hiding in plain sight all these years. He's in Shijiazhuang. A town only three hours away from Beijing. And he opened a cafe; not tech shop as I had thought.
