Present Day

Sunshine Home

Qing's POV

I was floored earlier when that ten year old boy, cornered me, as I got off the car, hearing him call me; Dayu ge's 'bride'.

When I looked at Dayu, he was already walking towards the rest of the kids, not sparing me a look. I wasn't sure if he heard what the boy just said, or not. Maybe he did, but he pretended not to hear it.

Then, I remembered that Dayu had always been a top before he met me. I was his first. And I will be his last. So, it doesn't matter if the boy thought that I was the one taking 'it' from Dayu. As long as he knew, they all knew that Dayu is mine as much as I am his. To be acknowledged as Dayu's bride, already gave me a little more confidence, that I would be accepted into their family.

I was quiet surprised but deeply pleased with the evidence that clearly, the teachers and caretakers of the Sunshine Home, had instil in the kids', the value of love and acceptance towards same sex relationship.

Clearly, Dayu had been brought up by decent people, and they earned my utmost respect for it. Unfortunately, it also made me all the more nervous; as to how I would do this, and what I should do to be accepted into the family.

I was still nervous when Dayu introduced us to the teachers and the caretakers; there were about seven of them, who were working at the Home full time. Three of them, were also a former Sunshine Home kids, like Dayu. There were two more caretakers, but, they only came on weekends as part timers, as they have other works on weekdays.

They welcomed me, well though, smiling at me, taking my hands and bowing back to me. I tried to act confident, and calm, not wanting to come out as though I was not serious about Dayu.

When I glanced at Dayu though, he only winked at me, as if giving me encouragement, perhaps knowing that I was still very nervous inside.

It was only when I was introduced to the kids that, I began to feel a little at ease, upon seeing the kids giving me a look of mixture. The older ones were giving me an appraising look, and the little ones were looking at me with awe mixed with curiosity.

"You're tall! I can't see your face" One little boy, the smallest one in size, mumbled as he almost toppled when he tried to look up at me. I crouched in front of him, and gave him a smile, "Sorry..what about now?" I asked.

He smirked, showing me his toothless front teeth, smile and to my surprise he stepped to hug me.

At that moment, I thought I was going to cry. I don't know why, but it just felt me with such warmth. Hence, I followed my heart and I picked him up, "now, you're as tall as me..!" I smiled, winking at him playfully.

He giggled, as he looked at the other kids, declaring, "now, I'm taller than you guys!"

Upon hearing that, the teachers and caretakers, began to laugh. I was surprised when I felt my cheeks warming up, shyly when that happened but; after that, I also began to feel more comfortable and confident. So, it's all good. Even though Dayu gave me a teasing wink and smile, I took it, proudly.
