Wang Family Home, Beijing
Wang Lin was smiling broadly, as she announced proudly, "Qing and Dayu are going to tie the knot!"
Wang ManHo dropped his spoon onto his plate, and turned to look at Qing and Dayu, sharply, "really?!?"
"Yeah.." Qing was sparkling as he replied to his father without any embarrassment at all, squeezing Dayu's hand under the table. Dayu could only nod as he smiled shyly at Qing's father.
"That's awesome!" Wang ManHo stood up and walked over to where Qing and Dayu was sitting and the two boys immediately also stood up to receive his hugs.
Wang ManHo hugged Dayu first, "Congrats..!" He whispered, patting Dayu's back, "thank you Dayu ah.." it's a relief to finally hear that his son and his boyfriend would be taking the next step in their relationship. Dayu's quiet a catch; he was beginning to get a little worried for his son.
"I am so happy, son!" Then Wang ManHo hugged Qing, tightly, patting Qing's back too; though it's a little harder than when he patted Dayu's back, "but..Why didn't you tell me about this earlier?" He asked, "and how come your mother knew?" He demanded to know.
Qing grimaced, "Sorry baba..Ma said, to keep it between us..She wanted to surprise you..."
Qing was still not in his right mind when his phone rang. His mother, who coincidentally went to pay Qing a visit at the office on that fateful day; found out that Qing was not in. Wang Lin knew Qing's schedule; and her son was supposed to be in the office on that day. She called Qing's secretaries and learned about what was happening on that day from them.
And like Qing; Wang Lin immediately had a bad feeling about it. She had seen the vindictive side of the woman, she thought was such a demure and sweet girl while growing up. Wang Lin wouldn't put it past her if she did something awful. That woman might even try something dangerous on Dayu. With that in mind- she tried calling Qing, but to no avail. Qing was already in the stake out room; with his phone off, then. When she tried calling Dayu, she could get through the line but Dayu's not picking up. He had put his phone on silent mode for the meeting with Lin Min Mei.
Wang Lin was still pacing up and down Qing's office; trying to call Qing and Dayu over and over and an hour later. She almost gave up- and was ready to call her husband, telling him everything and demanding they go to Shijiazhuang themselves.
It's during the last call attempt to Qing's phone that her phone finally got through his line.
"Wang Qing!" Her voice thundered with erratic concern, when Qing finally picked up, "what the hell happened!!! Where is Dayu!!!"
"He's fine... He's here with me..." she took a deep breath, as she slumped on Qing's couch, in relief. Qing's voice sounded so shaken, Wang Lin's temper went down a little, "he's fine..Dayu's fine..."
