Wang Family Home, Beijing
Wang ManHo and Wang Lin looked at each other, blinking and then they looked back at their sons sitting in front of them.
Qing and Dayu came for their weekend visit as usual. Both Wang ManHo and his wife hadn't expected anything out of the ordinary tonight.
But, then, suddenly out of the blue Qing and Dayu made the announcement.
"We are going to adopt.."
When Qing chose Dayu, to be his partner, they already prepared themselves to be satisfied with having just two sons no matter how long. They would not pressurize neither Qing nor Dayu to continue the family line; because it's not up to them to decide; it's up to Qing and Dayu themselves.
They knew that sooner or later their sons would come to the decision themselves; because they knew their sons. To be honest, even though Qing's their son, they doubted it if having children would be something Qing would think about so soon. But; it's a different thing for Dayu. If anything, Dayu would be the one who would think about it first. He loved children. And whatever Dayu loved, Qing would love too.
If they do decide to have children; then it's probably started with Dayu's initiative.
But; they hadn't expected it to happen so soon. It's unbelievable. It's like a dream.
"Why are you looking at us like that?" Qing frowned, "I thought of all people you would be the happiest!" He muttered.
And then, that's when the reality sank in- it's happening! Their sons going to have a child together. They're going to be grandparents!!!
Qing's mother squealed in joy, as she jumped to her feet and went straight to Dayu, hugging Dayu tightly. Qing's eyes narrowed looking at his mother finally losing her mind with elation, but he's quickly distracted by his father as his old man walked to his side.
"That's a great news, son..!" Wang ManHo embraced his son in a bear hug and patted his back, "congrats..!"
"Thanks Baba..!" Qing hugged his father back.
"How did this come about?" Wang Lin, asked Dayu excitedly, "Oh..I'm so happy..!!" She was tearing up as she took Dayu's hands in hers.
"I've been thinking about it..for quiet sometime..." Dayu replied, blushing a little, "and Qing and I had been discussing about it for some days..."
Qing looked at his mother who wouldn't let go of Dayu's hands, not liking it one bit. But then, Qing's eyes met Dayu's eyes; and his expression softened.
"Yeah.." Qing smiled at Dayu, lovingly, "I was actually surprised when Dayu brought it up..." he was more than surprised though, when Dayu asked him what he thought about adopting.
They'd only been married for barely six years, and having children barely crossed Qing's mind thus far. He still thought that he and Dayu were on their honeymoon period.
