1: The Start of It All

Him. Cade Harrison. He dribbled from the baseline all the way to the hotspot dodging and defending. He made an accurate lay up and all students from River High jumped from their seats and cheered. It was the biggest basketball game of the season. I was hardly concentrating on the scores, my eyes stayed focused on him. Only him. His ocean blue eyes and his light brown hair that never ceased to glow in the light of the sun. His smile sent a million electric signals all over my body. We were in our senior year and still Cade never knew of my existence. That never stopped me from day dreaming about him though.

"You're staring." Alisa snapped at me.

"Oops." I covered my mouth and looked at my best friend who practically rolled her eyes at me.

"You don't have to make it so obvious that you like him you know." She said.

"Easy for you to say. Go back to what you were doing please." I rolled my eyes.

Alisa had been making out with her boyfriend, Jackson ever since the game started. Those two have been dating for 4 years now and it's still the most disgusting thing ever seeing them eating each other's faces like that. Their relationship is an on and off thing and it's so annoying how Alisa is glued to him like a magnet.

My thoughts got interrupted again when I spotted Kendall from the corner of my eye.
Kendall Waves. The "sexiest girl" in school and of course, Cade's girlfriend. She's got the looks and the talent. She's cheer captain and all the boys in school would do anything just to get a piece of her. Even the favouritism that comes from the teachers, the principal and coaches is insane. She's got absolutely everything... including my Cade.

Later on, Cade scored the final 3 pointer that allowed River High to win the championship. There was some excitement for a while and finally the teachers left and it was just the students.

"As captain of the River Ravens, I'd like to thank you all for your support and to my teammates, well done. As a way of celebrating there's a party at my house at 7, don't be late." Cade announced and everyone went crazy.

My heart immediately started pounding and I turned to face Alisa and grinned.

"You're coming right?" She asked.

"Definitely not. He won't even notice me so what's the point?" I asked.

"Well maybe you could try and get rid of that web that's in between your legs for once." She burst out into laughter.

I just rolled my eyes. It's been four years and Alisa never grows tired of making fun of the fact that I'm a virgin.

"I'm just playing Maia, but I promise I'll be with you if you don't find a guy to hang out with." She said.

"You promise?" I asked.

"I promise. I'll pick you up at 6.30. Dress sexy okay?" She said back.

I nodded and walked to my car...
As I drove home, I started picturing different scenarios of tonight. Maybe I'd actually get a chance to talk to Cade.
